<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Florida Today - The Orlando Magic have held preliminary trade discussions with the Denver Nuggets about power forward Reggie Evans, but the deal still might be weeks away from transpiring. One rumored trade could feature the Magic sending Keyon Dooling and Pat Garrity to Denver for Evans and enigmatic shooting guard J.R. Smith. The Magic would have to throw in another low-salaried player to make the deal work.</div> Link
I'm intrigued. J.R. Smith and Evans for Garrity, Dooling, and another filler? I'm liking the thought of the prospect of having a 2 headed monster of a future at SG. Redick and Smith.
Yeah very true. Smith is a guy who attacks the rim and is a crazy dunker while Redick is a great shooter. Also, Evans is a dirty player down low (sometimes too dirty lol) and can help our rebounding.
Yeah like i said before, I'll be sad to see Keyon Dooling go. But I think Evans and JR Smith would be better for the team and will mesh well with the Magic. Plus I think the fans will like JR Smith style of play(dunking and such) and will respect Evans dirty work kind of like how fans love Nocioni and Varejao. BTW- I know we can just send in Redick if JR isn't hitting shots. But can JR shoot? Because if not, wouldn't he be like another Ariza?

He shot about %40 from behind the arc last season as well. What interests me the most about Smith, is the fact that in his 3 seasons in the NBA, he has always seen pretty limited minutes. I guess this can be attributed to his poor work ethic, but still, he's only 21. Maybe moving to Orlando with Dwight would prove to be a good thing? Also, I too would be disappointed to see Dooling go, as he is one of my favorites, but J.R. Smith would be a better choice than him hands down imo. The only thing we would lose in Smith over Dooling, is defense. Then we go to the big man side of the trade: Garrity and Evans. Goes without saying that Garrity won't be missed, especially when we bring in Reggie Evans. The guy is flat out a rebouding machine imo. To top that, he isn't too shabby of a defender. We could easily be a very, very good rebounding team, both offensively and defensively. This trade would be a steal imo.
Thanks for clearing the shooting up for me.^^ But yeah I wonder if we'll still have to worry about his work ethic, because i remember like just reading he was working out hardcore already down in Houston. We need to hurry up and get this deal done. Quick Question If this goes through, do you guys think Keyon Dooling will be the new starting point guard in Denver?
I'd have to say no. Since they lost Blake, (hopefully if Karl is smart) Iverson will start at the point. I think that with the signing of Atkins, he too would get the nod over Dooling. So no, I don't really see him starting for the Nuggets. He seems to be a better choice to come off the bench anyway imo.
Dooling could start and have a small ball type team with AI and Dooling. They are both good defenders. Don't be surprised to see him start some games.
We probly won't have to worry about it anyways, 90% of these rumors never happen. (I sure hope it does thoough)
