<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">There have been questions about how Bryant, the Lakers' first scoring option, would mesh with a lineup of star players. Krzyzewski isn't concerned.

"Kobe's as good a player as there is on the planet, and he's a very team-oriented player," Krzyzewski said. "I think he's as good defensively as he is offensively, so that's a nice thing to have." </div>

Take note of WHO said it... Coach K himself... the Epitomy of Team-ball with his Blue - Devils...

Good to see the haters proven wrong AGAIN

Nice find. I think people started taking notice of this the last two seasons. The Lakers supporting cast has been one of the worst in terms of talent. The only two players who would start on other teams are Kobe and Odom. The other three players the Lakers had at starters would be coming off the bench on the other 29 teams in the league.

People choose to be ignorant. I'm sure most people know Kobe has to takeover every game but some just want to criticize him anyway.

Although the people that criticize his game just end up looking stupid and hypocritical in the end.

True. When he scores a lot, people calls him a ball hog. When he started to look for his teammates, people got on his case again. Basically for Kobe, it's damn if you do and damn if you don't.

i havent liked kobe since the breakup wit shaq and the rape controversy, but lately its been hard for me to dislike him anymore. hes just too damn good, lol. coach k is dead on when he says he is as good offensively as he is defensively. he is hands down the best overall player in the league.

by the way, kobe23, if kobe was to go to college, he was gonna go to duke, so obviously coach k likes him. just pointing that out, you seemed a bit surprised that he said it, haha.

^He had 30+ in 2004, where he had Malone, Payton, and Shaq. I remember the 9 staright 40+ games, that team was deep.

Not to nitpick, but the alleged haters haven't been proven wrong, since Krzyzewski was merely stating his opinion, and an opinion stated without some sort of accessible, factual basis can't really disprove another.

I honestly see a lot more paranoia about "Kobe haters" than I see the haters themselves? Is there anybody who denies he's a top 5 offensive player? Even a top 3?

You can't deny that people nitpick his game either.

What did you expect coach K to bash him? Enough with this "hater" nonsense, it makes you sound like a child.

I'm going to have to agree with you, the haters weren't proven wrong at all in this case.

I really have no idea why he said that.

Haters or none haters I think 99% of people who watch basketball can say he is a the best player in the league and a team player.. He does what is needed for the team he plays for..

I believe that in select cases he has played in a manner that has been completely contradictory to his team's success, but 98-99% of the time he acts in the team's best interest. The feeling he gives me is very similar to the knowledge I have of Barry Bonds here in San Francisco; namely, that those in the media and former players know that Bonds is extremely difficult to get along with, but also capable of being aloof and charming just frequently enough to avoid incriminating himself fully (the prior remarks having nothing to do with steroids, merely personality).

I guess I just have trouble seeing how worthwhile fighting this sort of fight is, since even if people don't like him, they certainly don't question his potency on the court, nor do their criticisms or snapes prevent him from scoring thirty a night and hitting the three at the buzzer.
