Not sure who else in here has intentions on getting this, but if you don't, you should. I recently played the demo and it's absolutely amazing. It's the best looking game I've ever seen in my life. The gameplay is amazing as well. The story also seems very intriguing. I have my copy on reserve and have full intentions on buying it on Tuesday when it comes out. Here is a link to Gamestats.com, which gives you a rundown on most of the press reviews out there. At the moment, the average rating is 9.9/10, and reading the reviews makes me want it even more.

I'm looking forward to this too. I still haven't figured out what the story is about, but when it gets rated 99%-100% from multiple sources, it's hard to ignore. I'm going on vacation real soon, so I won't get my hands on it till early September.

I'm thinkin about copping it too, looks sick as hell. Graphics look pretty crisp too. Might get it for my birthday along with Madden.

BioShock or die. I'm getting the LE on wednesday. GOTY candidate for sure.

99% out of 100 so far at Gamerankings.com. If it keeps this up, it will be the higest rated game ever at that site. Previous is Zelda: Ocarina of Time (97.7%).

I'm assuming this game is going to be a computer killer graphics wise. The game is likely going to run best on Vista with a high quality and up-to-date graphics and sound cards. As for the gameplay itself, it looks alright.

I've honestly never seen a game look so good. It's easily the best looking game on the 360 to date. I feel sorry for those looking to play this on a computer because it's going to take one powerful computer to run the thing at it's highest setting. It's games like this that make me happy I own a 360, cause I wouldn't get to play it otherwise.

The 360 is a poor device with too many bugs. I'd rather spend my money on updating my computer which provides thousands of other options for me. I'm planning on updating soon so that I can finally purchase DIRT and give this game a shot. Games are also much cheaper for the PC as well. Over here instead of paying $59.99 for Madden 08 for example on a XBOX 360 or PS3 I can get it at a Fry's Electronics in-store for less then 15 bucks brand new. Same thing with just about any other game. With the graphics for PC and Mac being updated for typical sports titles to next-gen next year I feel sorry for console enthusiasts in the heavy prices you all must pay because in the end I'm still paying less.

Eh, I much prefer the consoles as it is. I've never been a PC gamer. I honestly can't stand keyboard and mouse controls in any game unless it's an RTS (Starcraft, etc.). I've always preferred console gaming and I'll continue to prefer it. More games that appeal to me come out on them, and not only that, I can play multiplayer with my friends without them having to shell out cash to get the game as well. So while the computer has many perks, like the cheaper games, I'll still prefer my console gaming over CPU gaming any day.

Still don't sgree at all, but whatever you prefer is cool with me. However, check this.

More games that come out on console come out on PC then PC games coming to consoles. More exclusive titles come out for PC. Far and away more adaptability. There are controllers for any console ever created for PC such as XBOX 360 and PS3 as you can see below.

Not to mention that many games don't require your friends to purchase the games to play multiplayer unless they are created for that purpose such as MMORPGs. I never liked those anyway. To play sports games, FPS, etc I just plug in a few controllers and get the game rolling on a wide screen monitor with great speakers. Always better then on TV, plus higher quality graphics and sound. If you want to play that mod GoldenEye Source for Half-Life 2 that has all the GoldenEye 007 stuff on it with superb graphics and new animations, just get a Nintendo 64 controller adaption for a couple bucks online and play away!

Anyway, don't get me wrong I'm not against console gaming. Some games just aren't meant to be played on a computer. It doesn't matter on the genre, it is something almost unexplainable. For instance I can't imagine playing TimeSplitters or the original GoldenEye as a Rom on a PC. I just don't like that and I never would either.

I think that this is the most overrated game ever lol. It looks awesome but come on. The gameplay isn't perfect, the graphics aren't THAT great. It is just the first in the next batch of amazing looking games. I am sure other games will look better very soon. Also, the replayability looks poor. No multiplayer and it doesn't look like there is any extra stuff to explore really. I heard it only takes 8 hours to beat the game and find/unlock everything. If it is that short then it will last most people a week or two at the most.

I still think this game looks really awesome and fun, but I just don't see what all what all the hype and perfect ratings it is getting is from.

And have you even played the game or demo? Honestly, I played the demo and I can tell you this is the best looking game ever. I'm not overrating it, I'm being honest. The textures and everything looked absolutely sensational. I've never seen such realistic water effects either. After the plane crashes in the beginning, I honestly thought it was still a cutscene when it was actual gameplay. It was that good, and I played it on an SDTV, so I'd love to see the game in high def. And you must not be reading the same reviews I've read. If you zip through the game, it's still supposed to take a good 12 hours to beat. However, if you do all the exploring and side stuff, it's supposed to be upwards of 20+ hours. And by the way, the gameplay is as perfect as I've ever played, and again, this was a DEMO. The controls responded perfectly. Aiming was no issue. The AI was sensational and completely unpredictable in most situations. In general, it was amazing. I have no doubt the game will be equally as good when I get the full version tomorrow. And honestly, I don't see this game as overhyped. From what I've played, it deserves all it's praise.

Those who think that BioShock is overhyped, it is your loss, really.
I've been pumped to get this game for a month since I set up a preorder for a LE/CE of my own.

I don't see how this is anyone's loss considering that the final product has not been released and the game's replay value has been scrutinized all over the Internet for poor quantity. Even if the game plays well, it needs to have replay value to be a worthwhile game putting my money towards. When the game releases I'm giving it a shot, but I have low expectations.

Yes I did play the demo and every single internet source said that GoW had slightly better graphics for obvious reasons. I just rented it so I will update my opinion later but I doubt it will change. Why would I spend $60 bucks on a game when I can rent it for 5 days for $8? I will likely beat it easily in two days. And do you seriously think that the graphics of 360 games are going to peak at this? I bet that by christmas almost every major release beats this game graphically. Also, the gameplay is very repetitive. You zap a guy with a plasmid, then hit him with a blunt object. Over and over again. Also, I think it is reatardedly overrated because it is being rated higher than ocarina of time on every site. WHat's with that?

If this game would have been simply rated around a 9/10 everywhere and people weren't calling it the greatest game ever i would have no problem with it. It is still a kick-ass game with almost no replayability.

Ok, after 3 hours of playing I am sorry to say that this game just isn't all that fun. It is repetitive as heck and the physics/movement are the same as every other shooter. That's awesome if you like it but I just don't see what seperates this from Doom, Quake, and Call of Duty games.

This game reminded me a lot of Condemned. It has awesome graphics, similar style of play and after awhile just isn't all that fun because of how repetitive it is. If you liked Condemned then you will probably love Bioshock.

The game is actually very open to how you approach combat. With all the different plasmids you get, it's more than open to experimentation. So, instead of doing the same thing over and over, experiment. Hack a bot and have it attack people for you. Lure a crap ton of Splicers into a puddle and use the electric plasmid to take them all out. It's all about creativity. Of course it's going to be slightly repetitive early on since you don't have a lot of weapons. Once you get further in though and get more to your disposal, that's when the game will open up to those with a creative mind.

And by the way, where are you guys reading that it has low replay value. A lot of reviews I've read, it's supposed to have a bunch. Almost every review I've read have said the game is worth playing at least twice, which is a good chunk of hours if you actually take your time exploring instead of just blasting through the game.

And lastly, it's not getting rated higher than Ocarina. That's currently the only game to ever get a 10 at IGN.com and the average rating for that game was a 9.8. Nothing will ever top that game. The reason Bioshock might have a higher press rating at the moment is because of the fact that so few reviews are in. However, considering the lowest rating I've seen for it is a 9.0, I'm really sure it's more than worth the hype, you just have to be willing to play it more open minded than looking at it as a traditional shooter.

BioShock was getting a 99% at Gamerankings until Gamespot (and maybe more reviewers) rated it a 90%, bringing it to 97.2% or something.
BioShock isn't for everybody, but it sure is a must-play game, rental or buy.

I am sure it would have been a lot more fun if I would've played it more than 3 hours. I did all the water traps and hacking and that got old. Plus, the lack of a death penalty really turned me off. Big Daddies are very difficult which is cool but whenever i fought one I just shot it a bazillion times and didn't waste any of my eve or health packs. Also, the graphics are grossly overrated. Outside of the water effects it is barely above average. Gamespot and customer reviews are the only people that got it right imo.

I find it funny that ever single customer rating is in the 8.5-9.5 average. That seems a little weird to me because players usually always are the ones to overrate games. I'm glad other people are loving it though! lol

What's so horrible about the lack of a death penalty? Honestly, it's a great thing when you fight a Big Daddy. If you had to restart from the beginning against that thing every time, it'd get tremendously difficult to beat. They're already tough enough, that'd make it harder. And theoretically, there is a "death penalty" per se. They might have the same health as when you left them, but you don't get any used EVE or health packs back, nor do you get any used ammo either.

^^I just felt like they should have made the big daddies easier and more fun to fight. Everytime I met one I didn't want to fight it because unless I wanted to waste all my eve I was gonna die a bunch lol.
