But he'd also like to play for a winner.
"Hopefully I can get out of Memphis - that rebuilding process is hard,'' he said Sunday, after he scored 21 points in the Lute Olson Classic. "I've got to be professional but it's one of those situations where you never think you'll be in. You want to get put in a situation where you want to win. Individually things don't matter.'' </div>

I'm sure the feeling is mutual.

What happend to Mighty Mouse. His rookie days as a Raptor to this, makes me sad. I hope he can find a home for cheap. The Celtics are a good fit, he could play off the bench with some big names.

Good god, I completely forgot Damon Stoudamire existed.

He was pretty good in his first season in Memphis. Then he had that knee injury and was out for the year. He and Pau meshed really well though. Now with Lowry and Conley ahead of him, it is reasonable for him to want out. I was pulling for him to sign with the Heat a couple seasons ago.

Trade him to the Heat. Stoudamire > Smush.

    Imagine the Heat squad:

    PG: Stoudamire
    SG: Hardaway (Wade injured)
    SF: Walker
    PF: Haslem
    -C: O'Neal

Ready to dominate the 90's! But realistically, Smush and Wright will probably start.

So yeah, Stoudamire for Chris Quinn and Doleac sounds about right.

What do the Grizzlies need Chris Quinn and Michael Doleac for? That's just taking on their trash.

The problem with Stoudamire, aside from his knees and his age, is his height. He tries hard on defense, but he's always been a liability, stemming back to his days with the Raptors, because he gets posted up and run over time after time. Offensively, he's a decent decision maker, but he's still too scoring minded for my tastes. He's not the type of scoring point that Chucky Atkins and Bobby Jackson are, in that he's a better playmaker than them and doesn't force things offensively, but that's still where his strengths lie.

With that said, Marc Iavaroni plans on playing both Conley, Jr. and Lowry in the backcourt at the same time, so I think there'll be a few spare minutes left over for Stoudamire. Someone's bound to get hurt too, and Stoudamire can play either guard position.

If I were the Grizzlies, I'd just try to make him happy, because they're not going to get much in a trade for him, and it's good to have veteran presences on a young team like this one.

The only reason for Memphis to do this deal would be cap space. They could waive Doleac and Quinn if necessary, both are on the final year of their current deals.

Damon is signed for two more seasons, so the Grizzlies would save $4.6M in cap space.

Don't the Celtics need some help at Point Guard? Stoudamire wouldnt be that bad of an addition. Not exactly starter material..but good insurance and bench production perhaps.

Unless Memphis took back Scalabrine, I don't think the Celtics could afford Damon. If the Grizzlies buyout Damon, Boston would be a nice destination for him.

Chris Quinn doesn't belong in the NBA.

Michael Doleac would be the Grizzlies' third or fourth string center.

lol no, I'm reffering to my post not yours.

Milwaukee could use him seeing as they don't have a true backup (Bell can play some PG) unless I'm forgetting someone.

I can't believe that the Grizz offered Damon Stoudamire a mid level deal after his near max contract with the Blazers.

At that rate he isn't even really a someone who would give them cap relief. If he is willing to take a buyout of around 7 million dollars in hopes that he can regain the money he lost with another team I'd say do it.

It is not as if he is a good locker room guy. Memphis is so far under the cap anyway they can eat Stoudamire's salary and make a move for someone who could actually help the team next year -- Ronald Murray.

Stoudamire ought to back up Steve Nash in Phoenix. He can still run, right?

Well, he was able to run in '06, but then he busted up his knee and was out all of last season, so nobody outside of the organization could really tell you how's he's looking right now.

Jorge Garbajosa wants to go back to Spain but might stay if he were going to play with Navarro and Gasol, and he's got a contract just as big as Damon's, so maybe they can just swap the two.

Where'd you hear that? A month ago, Garbajosa told a Spanish newspaper that he'd consider going back to play for Madrid after his contract was up. But it was pointless speculation more than anything (he mentioned the Celtics and Lakers as well).

Why would we trade Garbo for Might mouse? We don't need your old PG's, we have 2 great PG's. No thanks.
