<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LAS VEGAS - Dwight Howard has no trouble anymore accepting the "C" that is added to the customary "F" which is listed for his usual basketball position. Howard is listed as a 6-foot-11, 265-pound forward for the Orlando Magic. But the USA Basketball roster shows Howard as the team's "F-C," meaning that center also is part of his job. As the second-tallest player on the team and the heaviest in weight for Team USA, Howard knows what he will be required to do. "Try to get all the rebounds, try to block all the shots, try to be a good defender at the post and try to be a good teammate," he said. "I think that's my role."</div> Source: Orlando Sentinel
It isn't like this is something original. Dwight played a good portion of his games/time at C in Orlando. He does the same thing he said he thinks he's supposed to do with the Magic as well.
His role will be behind Tyson Chandler. I think that he will play big minutes off the bench along with Redd, Prince, Billiups and Williams. My thing is, Howard needs more post moves. He just uses his size, which is good, but he needs more to his game. He needs to play smarter basketball, and try to turn the ball over less.
<div class="quote_poster">Swish Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Master Shake, you think Tyson Chandler will start over Dwight Howard?</div> Yup, not because he is better. Tyson can block shots better right now, and has more post moves and can play away from the basket better then Howard. But, Howard will play big minutes off the bench, and possibly more then Chandler.
What the hell?? Tyson Chandler has NO post moves. He sucks offensively. Most of his points come from easy dunks or putbacks.
I was about to say. He might be a better shotblocker not by much but Tyson Chandler isn't good offensively whatsoever. Dwight Howard should own that spot easily. That's like saying Nick Collison is gonna start over LeBron or something.
<div class="quote_poster">Master Shake Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Listen, that is just my opinon. Maybe Howard will start, but I think Chandler will.</div> Well it's not really your opinion when you're saying he has better moves than Howard which is false and can play away from the basket better than Howard, which is also false. Anyways, I think Amare will be starting at the C.

He is a solid center who can play because he doesn't demand offensive looks. He can rebound, block shots and he does the dirty work down low. He can receive lob passes from Kidd and tip stuff in. For Howard to be effective, he needs the ball. With Kobe and Amare, Kidd will run the kind of same thing with RJ and Martin. Using their athleticism to favor them. This is why I think Chandler will start.

He basically said it in this article that he knows he won't be getting the ball and he would be happy just rebounding and playing defense. All he wants to do is do whatever it takes for the team to win.

I believe he can do stuff without the ball, but I have a strong belief that Chandler will start.

That doesn't mean a thing, now does it?
Tyson Chandler not having a lick of inside moves isn't wholey true. He's limited, but not helpless. Still, Dwight beats him out on any given day offensively hands down.
Just curious, anyone have stats from tonight's game? How did Dwight do against Venezuela? EDIT: Just looked it up, Dwight had 12 points tonight.
