If you win 60 games as the leader of your team, why does it matter that you aren't a top defender, if you SCORE more points than you give up, that translates to W's..., so who cares? If you score 20 points and 10 assists, but give up 10 points, that is better than scoring 15 points and 7 assists and giving up 0 points... I realize that defense is more important in the postseason, but I don't think a player should be excluded from the best player conversation just because they aren't a top 10 defensive player. for an offensive leader to put energy on defense at the end of the day that is going to take away from what he gives on offense, so if you're the offensive leader of your team maybe you SHOULDN't bust your ass on D, cause your team needs you focused on your offense. That group consists of: Tim Duncan Kobe Bryant Lebron James Dwayne Wade Steve Nash The next five would be something like: Dirk Nowitzki Kevin Garnett Carmelo Anthony Gilbert Arenas Jason Kidd You could make a case for T-Mac or Yao, too.
