He blames "dirty play" by the Packers. This is typical of the zone blocking scheme that the Pack is running. Players have complained for years that it should be illegal and maybe it should.

Harris brings up an excellent point about how the offensive players get so much protection and very little is done for the defense. He poses the question of whether someone has to get a major injury before the NFL makes a rule for it (like the horse collar rule).

No doubt, BF1 will just blame it on the Packers playing dirty, but I think this is a serious issue.

Do you think there should be a rule change to eliminate the zone blocking scheme?

I personally am not a fan of the cut blocking - I think it does lend itself to more injuries. But should a zone blocking scheme be outlawed? I don't think so...

Considering Jason Spitz was injured for us as well, this guy has nothing to be whining about, the cut blocks can be just as dangerous for the offensive players. However i am not condoning the low blocking that the ZB scheme regularly uses, but they haven't changed it for several years and probably aren't going to anytime soon, heck Tony Williams of the Bengals and more recently Jaguars, was cut off at the knees by the Broncos Greg Foster on Monday night football two years, his leg was broken and he missed the rest of the year because of it, and still nothing was done was it?

Besides if he wants to talk about dirty, how about that Urlacher "BLOCK" from two years ago when he balsted Favre who was no where near the play of an INT return.
