Q: Everyone wants to know how has the injury to your hand recovered? CB: My hand is feeling good. I am back to full contact. I am playing pickup ball at Verizon Center or Barry Farms, so I am back to full strength. Q: What aspects of your game did you look to improve on during this off-season? CB: I worked on my shooting and my range. I also have been working on my ball handling and my conditioning so I will be in top shape when training camp begins. </div> Click here for rest of interview
Ironically enough, he's exactly the type of player the Lakers need right now. I still cannot believe we traded this guy for Kwame "Doo Doo" Brown. It's good to see Caron recognizes he needs to work on his ballhandling skills. I expect him to have another productive season and could be a borderline All-Star if he can stay healthy.
Caron's going to be one hell of a player if he perfects on his ball handling skills before the season starts. A lot of the plays that ran through Caron usually had him ending up shooting a fadeaway or a jump shot, but he's got the body to go physical to the basket once he can handle the ball well.
I'd like to see him model his game like Carmelo Anthony. He has the same strong finishing moves and athleticism, but just needs to refine his skill more. Butler is great at drawing fouls and getting to the line ala Carmelo, and shoots a high percentage from the charity stripe. He's also a strong offensive rebounder like Melo. Improving his ball handling skills will make him even tougher to stop next year.

But you guys are right, it's definately great to see him working. His 3PT shot, and his ball handling as the areas he needs to improve. His passing was actually looking impressive last season, with better ability to get where he wants, he can (not the he will) be a 4-5 APG which would be impressive.
I completely forgot he made the All-Star team last year. Was he an original member or an injury reserve? OT: Andray Blatche looks really out of shape from the photo in the link. He has no definition on his arms, and a lot of fat. Gilbert and Caron are in tremendous shape from the photos of the pick up games. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Here is the roster: Caron Butler (SF), Dominic McGuire (PF), Oleksiy Pecherov ©, and DeShawn Stevenson (SG). Pretty good, right? The yellow team was led by guards Roger Mason and former Wizards Awvee Storey. He was an original member. Andray never had definition in his arms and I can't say whether he got fatter or not but he's definitely been working on his game over the summer, so that's a good thing to hear.

You're right he never had any definition on his arms, but he was a lot skinnier last season. I was hoping he'd spend all summer weight training and getting ripped.
Well he was chasing after girls illegally. I've heard Andray is a pretty big club guy and is out a lot, so hopefully we can see him using more of that time working on his game. He's definately no Opec in terms of being a gym rat.
