It's natural for me to hate the Vikings, but it's hard to not like Brad Johnson. He looked great last night. A real leader. After the game he was all smiles and you could tell he was just having a good time. Much respect goes out to Brad Johnson for playing as the oldest QB in the NFL right now...and all for a modest salary. What can you say? The guy's a winner... I can't believe it, but I was actually pulling for the Vikes last night! At least until Longwell took the field. *laughs* I must be losing my mind. I wish Favre were playing behind that line. Man, oh man...
After the game, Johnson put on a Redskins shirt and walked out of Fed Ex field. It was his way of saying thanks to the Redskins for having faith in him. Johnson is the 40th best paid QB in the NFL. Read that again - 40th. That means that Brad Johnson is getting paid less than 8 backup QBs in the league right now, yet after week one could probably be considered a top 15 QB, and a top 10 in terms of game management.
