<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nets are about to add more size and experience up front by signing 6-10 free agent forward Malik Allen. The six-season veteran will sign a one-year non-guaranteed contract today.

Allen, 29, averaged 4.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in 60 games with the Bulls last season. Allen, whom the Nets have courted several times in the past, is a career 6.0 scorer and 3.3 rebounder. If he sticks with the team and earns a roster spot, he'll make the veteran's minimum for his experience, just over $1 million.

Looks like a decent signing. He'll add depth to the frontcourt and isn't that old either. He's a pretty good defender from what I've seen and heard.

    Good signing by the Nets.

I'm really expecting them to go far this season, really wont be surprised if they make the ECF. I'm very interested to watch their season pan out.

Just some insurance for the Nets. Solid, but nothing to cheer about.

There were rumors going around in the beginning of the offseason that the Sixers were actually going to make a push for Malik Allen if they couldn't get a deal done for Joe Smith. I guess nothing really worked out. Didn't we resign Alan Henderson or something? I can't remember [IMG]
