<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Count C/PF Chris Webber out of the Pistons' plans. Heading into the offseason, it seemed Webber's choices would be Detroit, Dallas or retirement, but the Pistons have made a commitment to keep minutes open for some of their young big men, including Fs Jason Maxiell and Amir Johnson. That means Webber, who averaged 11.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in 43 games with Detroit last year, won't be going home again. Webber had a brief flirtation with Orlando, but it appears Dallas -- which has done little to its roster besides adding SG Eddie Jones -- has an upper hand. The Mavs could add PF P.J. Brown, too. There is a darkhorse candidate, though, in the market for both players: Phoenix. Yes, no team runs more than the Suns, and, yes, running is not Webber's strong suit these days (it's not Brown's, either), but Phoenix could be setting up a nifty recruiting battle with the Mavs for both Webber and Brown.</div> Source: Sporting News
I laugh at the thought of having Chris Webber in a run and gun style of offense. It shouldn't bode well for Suns fans either. They're bringing in the curse of the Webber
I didn't think Kurt Thomas was going to fit in, but he was the guy that could get the defensive rebound to start the break, which Webber and/or Brown could fill in and do. Plus, we've seen that the bench isn't as good at running when Nash is out, so why not have Webber and/or Brown come in and provide a solid interior on offense and defense while they're not running.
i don't think this would work...at all. this would be a pointless move, and i wouldn't be surprised if webber ended up sittin the bench the whole time.
