Strange they focus on the miniscule little part where they try to get points, the main game of Union is the fullbacks seeing who can kick it the furthest.
Yeah it's certainly not the most exciting part of the game, but is important in terms of strategy. It's like 4th and 25 on your own 15 in football, no one likes to punt but it's dumb not to.

Perhaps its not a direct parallel, but if you've got slow ball around your own 22 and aren't making any progress, your just increasing the probability that you lose possession deep in your own territory. Then, it's good to abandon ship and boot that sucker outta there! oh, and the jerseys are cooler looking in union
