By the way, the more I think about it, the more I'm offended by the Al Queda comparison. That's crossing a line with me. I won't hold it against Bakes unless he wants to agree with the statement, but PF420, you owe me an apology.

J-E-T-S good post u had i agree with every word. and bbakes if u dont wanna bet cool but are you really going to say that the jets are a bad team after they played like a playoff team?(play call, and they were in control for almost the whole game) everyone in this besides the patriots fans will admit that there are other teams better and deserve respect if u look at it no one is saying that patriots suck. you are just going out and trashing every other team just give some damn respect...and if u are gonna talk the trash that youve been talking think of another bet maybe well hold the sigs off till week 4 to put them up? would you wanna do that being thats why i started this topic

in the words of jim mora; PLAYOFFS! [IMG] when was the last time the tennessee titans were a playoff team? I'm sorry I don't want to sound disrespectful. [IMG] the thing that gets me is every year the popular thing to predict is the demise of the dynasty. I understand it. the cowboys got the same treatment in the 90s. but why the need to jump to that ultimate conclusion? Is it because u wanna be the 1st to say "told ya so"? If the Pats win I'm not gonna gloat. I don't think I've ever done that. I'm sure you're all rolling your eyes at that statement, but I think of myself as an NFL fan 1st & a Pats fan 2nd. I'm sorry for those of you that look at my confidence in my team as being arrogant or disrespectful, but I'm not going to back down. Given the recent history of the series I don't think predicting a 2 score victory on Sunday is being disrespectful.

If you want to stay out of it, then why are you laughing? I doubt you would think it was funny if someone was saying that about you, and, regardless of our differences, I would stand up and say it's going to far. Thanks for the support.

I've been called a lot of names on this board and have ignored them. I have never once complained to VF. I haven't complained to him for this slur. I'm just saying that this time I don't appreciate it and it crosses a line with me. I really didn't ask for your support, but you had to say something and it's a snicker at my expense even though I went to an effort to show you that I didn't associate you with the remark just because your a Patriots fan. Thanks. I'll remember that and rather than trying to say something kind, the next time you get frustrated and threaten to take your ball and go home, I'll sling "be the bigger man and ignore it" right back at you.

Why would you? That's ridiculous. From the way you're acting I might as well have said it. [IMG] Do whatever you want Dale. I was just offering friendly advice.

Just talking smack, that is all. He did say he wasn't sure they could unseat the Pats so I apologize for that. I guess I should have said that he hates Pats fans instead of the Pats themselves. BTW, Chi town is going to be saddened when they play the Pats this year.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DolfanDale)</div><div class='quotemain'><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pats_Fan420)</div><div class='quotemain'>Dale, I don't need to take any meds. I'm just trying to raise your blood pressure and I can see that it is working. You seem like the type of Dolphins fan to believe anything about your team as long as it has to do with them beating the Patriots. As far as I know, you never said that you think Culpepper is better than Brady but you probably feel that way. Are you with the majority of football fans in that you believe that Miami will take the AFC East this year? If so that rests my case because that means that you think the Patriots are inferior. How can you as a Dolphins fan think that when the Dolphins haven't won a Super Bowl recently? I know you hate the Patriots and Patriots fans with a passion comparable to that of Al-Qaeda toward the U.S. but, damn, the Pats still have their "core" in place. What I don't understand is how you can let your hatred of the Patriots get in the way of seeing things for what they really are. The Patriots have proven time and time again that they are very very good and the Dolphins haven't. You may hate the Pats, Bakes, and I but at least give respect where it is due.</div>
Try reading some threads before you start slinging baseless accusations. I have always given the Patriots the respect they are due. If you can find a quote where I didn't, then PLEASE bring it to this thread. I believe that I have even acknowledged the Patriots as a dynasty in these forums. I believe that I have congradulated the Pats on victories in these forums. I'm just sick and tired of the disrespect that Pats fans show fans of every other team in these forums. You guys haven't given the least bit of respect to Steelers, Broncos or Jets in here. Now you say that the Dolphins aren't very good. In the recent past, no. However, the Dolphins have been a winning franchise more than they haven't and have two Super Bowl trophies as well. Would you like to compare all-time records? I can say the Dolphins have won 120 games more than they've lost. Can Pats fans say that? (No, because your current all time record is 355-355-9) The Dolphins have won 27 more games than the Pats despite being six years younger. The Dolphins lead the series with the Patriots 47-34. The Patriots would have to sweep the Dolphins for 13 years straight before they could take the lead. Tell me again how the Dolphins aren't very good.</div>
I meant overall since the pats began winning Super Bowls. The Dolphins aren't very good right now. They are getting better, but they aren't very good. I was impressed with their winning streak last season and if they can do it again then we are in trouble. I do not think this will be the case and if you take that as disrespect then that is okay. The pats had a bad 1st game but they did come back and hold the Bills scoreless so I am optimistic that this was a one time fiasco of a football game. back to Miami, I will give them credit that they hung with the Steelers well but I feel that Culpepper got flustered and he needs to calm down in the future.

I apologize. Why, I'm not sure, but I do. You have been hostile toward Pats fans lately and I can see why since the Dolphins are or have been right behind them in the East. This may change, I don't know. I haven't given respect to the Broncos but that is about it. I am proud of the Steelers for what they accomplished as a fan in general of the AFC. I don't care much for the NFC but they've got some really good teams. As of late I am hoping that Seattle has a lackluster season this year so the Pats can get as good of a 1st round pick as possible. I am not a "fantasy world" Pats fan as you put it, I like to think that my high expectations of them and low expectations of other teams are pretty accurate. When the Pats start CFing their seasons like the Lions, Packers, etc. then I will see it as such and hope for the best. However, right now in this day and time, the Patriots continue to be a Super Bowl threat. They have arguably the best QB in the game, arguably the best head coach, and they have a ton of tallent on both sides of the ball even without Deion Branch. So yeah, I hold them on a pedestal.

You have it backwards. I don't hate Pats fans. This is football. It's just a game no matter who ungracious the winners are. However, that attitude has driven me to hate the Patriots. I hate them in the sports sense that I would like to see them get their butts handed to them when possible, but I don't wish them any harm.

You don't know why your apologizing to me? Wasn't my post clear enough? You compared me with a terrorist organization that has killed thousands of Americans. I don't mind if you want to give me a hard time, but that's crossing a line. It's a real slap in the face when you consider the good sportsmenship that I have extended to Patriot fans in the past. Go look in your own forum and read a few threads that I've started. I haven't been hostile so much as I been stating my opinion about stating my opinion about how disrespectful Pats fans have been toward other teams. I've also stated my opinion when I feel the arguments that you guys use to back up your arguments are nonsense. So, if I disagree with you that's being hostile? As much as I like to give Bakes a hard time, I've also made it a point to let him know that I think he's okay so that it doesn't get too personal. What do I get back from Patriot fans? I get compared to Al Queda. Don't apologize to me then say you don't know why. It's condesending.

I know you are takling smack. I am calling you no the erroneous things you stated. Like the fact you show respect. You dont. The post you said you show respect in, proved you didnt show respect. So, i talked a little smack of my own, only difference is mine is legit. Feel free to say things that simply arent true in every thread, bakes does, and i call him on it too.

Okay then, I do know why. I hurt your feelings and I'm sorry for it. I'll try to be more respectful from now on but, in my defense, I'm used to other boards where people get flat out MEAN with eachother over this stuff. You all know how it can be, people get in fights at games pretty often because of smack talking. I saw a pic of a Bills fan's face after instigating a fight with a Jets fan a while back and it wasn't pretty.
