Give it two weeks. It is defintely unfamiliar territory for everyone. Give SportsTwo the opportunity to grow on your before make a decision as whether or not to post here. Sure the site looks different and the features are different - but the posters are still the same. The JustBBall community is still the same - it just has gained a lot of members.
I actually got used to it in 1-2 days after the merge. I'd still prefer the regular JBB/vBulletin style anyday over this, but you got to give these guys props for what they created from scratch. It will only get better as time goes on, just hope you guys will give it a shot.
http://sportstwo.com/NBA/
Looks a LOT like the old JBB. Only difference is the teams forums are shown in standings order and the W/L is shown.
That page will be the page people come to when they type in www.justbball.com in their browser.
Right now, people are getting a "landing" page to help them get on to S2.
It also helps if you realize there are pulldown menus at the top of all the pages that help you get to just about any forum with ease.

I love SportsTwo. It's a great site with a lot of quality posters. I seriously hardly every post at bbb.net anymore (other than to see the hilarious posts of some such as R-Star and Chan)

QUOTE (Smitty)

Just don't really like the feel/atmosphere of it. It just doesn't feel like somewhere I'd set time aside to visit each day..it feels like it's just...there.

Smitty, you're a great poster and a funny dude. I really hope you do not leave this site.
I understand some of your frustrations about Sportstwo. I too was frustrated when the merge first occurred. I actually didn't mind the merge when it was first announced on JBB, but when it actually came through, it just felt different and awkward posting on here. Like many have already mentioned, the navigation and the site layout was sort of a turnoff for me when I first entered the site. I would be lying to you if I said Sportstwo is perfect, and that I love Sportstwo and that I don't miss JBB a single bit. Because I do miss JBB. It's definetely different around here, and it will definetely take some time getting used to. But I know this website has tons of potential. Sportstwo already has a ton of loyal, quality members. With them, along with JBB, we have the potential to create more discussion (a weakness of JBB). I'm definetely going to stick around, because I know that sooner of later, I will get used to it. I think in the long run, this move was for the better. We just have to take time and get used to it...

Im still having a tough time adjusting to it. Believe me, I loved JBB. I do support shape and his decision and Im sure he had thought about it quite a bit and didn't intend to leave us out to dry. Lets give it a chance.
I really don't understand the "potential" thing, "potential" to do what? This is a forum, all we need is a great set of members which are fairly active(not overly-active but still active enough to keep the boards busy), easy navigation, a decent layout and a good set of admins/mods. We already had that at JBB, why change that? I don't know what else is expected of a forum.
I don't get the "step back" thing. You can view it traditionally, or you can view by the tabs on top.

I think the only things you miss are sentiments, which I don't blame you for.

I don't know what else is expected of a forum.
JustBBall was a great basketball forum but we always wanted to turn JBB into more than just a forum - we wanted to turn it into a full fledged basketball community website. A lot of the features we wanted to add to JBB over the years we could not do because of the lack of resources and the inability to edit the vBulletin software.
SportsTwo provides us with endless resources and the possibilities to do the things we always wanted to do on JBB. We tried forever to get a decent frontpage going but it never came through because vBulletin was built for a forum. SportTwo is a custom made platform that has forums but also enables us to have realtime scores, realtime news, more game options, a trade checker(under development). It also gives us the options of making graphics a huge part of the site and showcasing them, blogs for our writers, paid news, etc.
You have to realize that we wanted JBB to be more than a forum but we tried and failed on our own. SportTwo has a great community of posters as a result of JustBBall and other sites. The quality of the members will remain the same. The look will be different but the community will remain in tact and actually gain more members and grow.
Trench, you were right on when you said Ian and us spent countless time thinking and analyzing this huge decision. You have to realize that you guys have been active for several months and years and JBB has been a home to you. Put yourself in our shoes and realize that we had been with JustBBall since the beginning. You think we would handover our community that we worked so hard to build if we didn't feel it was in the best interests of the JBB and it'smembers? Hell no.
Give SportsTwo some time to grow on you. Sure it looks different and it has more features but I think once you get use to the site it will be your home, just like JustBBall was your previous home.

The possibilities are endless for S2.
We will become a site where a sports fan (from each sport) will have it in their favorites.

Looks like I'll have to get used to the layout and smilies. Oh well, if it's for better discussion and more members, I'll give it a shot.
Wow, I went to JustBBall and somehow it directed me here. This site is indeed a bit confusing. I guess not getting use to it at first. Do we still have the Out of Bound Section? I quite like that section...
can somebody help me locate or direct me into the Out of Bound section? I can't find it...

CORRECTION: We will be having an Out of Bounds forum. It is in the works look for it in the next few days. It will be located as a folder in the NBA General Discussion forum.

I really hope everyone gives Sports Two a chance. I understand that it feels very different from JBB, and that graphically, JBB was superior (layout wise). But think of it like this: with all the staff and knowledgeable members from JBB, together with the people at S2, we have the possibility to shape the site to our liking. The graphics team from JBB is great, and they will now be working on S2. I'm sure that everything forum-wise will be organized shortly, because when the sites merged all forums and threads were moved over here, which caused a bit of disarray. Just be patient, and don't hesitate to point out things that could be changed for the better.
I don't know about you guys, but I love this merge. Theres just so many features, I'm used to this forum already.
Yeah this site is quite bizarre. It's like using facebook after always being a myspace kind of guy. It is difficult at first but I am hoping I latch on quickly. This is my first post on the new merged site!!!
