"We are excited to add Reggie Evans our roster. He is an accomplished rebounder that we feel will make an immediate impact and will exemplify our commitment to hard work, rebounding and defense," said King. "At 6-11, Ricky Sanchez is a young prospect that has potential and we will continue to monitor his development as he plays overseas."

http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/479...announce_trade/

Good to see Billy is still alive. I always wanted Reggie on the Sixers..nice trade even though I'm gonna really miss Hunter.

^ Probably either Jason Smith or Herbert Hill? The trade will probably create another roster spot forbubble players like Louis Amundson and Herbert Hill.
Anyways, paper wise, it seems like a pretty good trade for us, but how big is Reggie Evan's salary? I would hate for us to take back big salary when our intentions are to rebuild. Also, does anyone know anything about this Ricky Sanchez guy?

QUOTE (Answer_AI03)

whos gonna be playing center now when Dalembert has 2 fouls in the first 10 minutes?

Smith will likely shift over to Center, since he's like 7'0-7'1. I see the depth chart like this:

C- Dalembert/Smith

PF- Evans/Amundson/Hill

SF- Carney/Young/Byars

SG- Iggy/Korver/Green

PG- Miller/Williams

The Nuggets did this trade for financial reaons. Hunter is only due 10.416M over the three following seasons, including his player option in '09-'10, though he does have a trade kicker of 1.008M, though I imagine that the Sixers would pay. Jones is a good defender. The Sixers are just looking to add another power forward to compete for the starting job and Evan's contract of 19M over four years is tolerable for his rebounding and to a lesser extent his defensive ability.

Very smart move by Billy King especially with Samuel Dalembert out for some time. Evans is a terrific rebounder and defender, I think he'll fit in well on the Sixers. I'm quite impressed with the direction King is taking the Sixers.

Brian, you can check salaries on S2, just look at the bar under the Sixers logo on this page and you'll see a salaries link.

Smitty, I think Shavlik Randolph is the projected starter and he should compete with Evans in training camp for it.

Shavlik Randolph? I completely forgot he was even on our roster. Haha. Anyways, seems like a decent trade for us, and hopefully our draft picks will all make the roster.
Sixer news in the offseason, who would have thought?

This move is also big for us in terms of opening up a roster spot for Byars, by trading Bobby Jones. Good move by King, too bad it came a couple years too late.
^ yeah, but didn't we basically counter the move by signing Calvin Booth? Assuming it's a guarenteed contract
