<font face="helvetica" size="3">NFL security confiscated a video camera and its tape from a New England Patriots employee on the team's sideline during Sunday's game against the Jets in a suspected spying incident, sources said. </font></p>

<font face="helvetica" size="3"></font></p><font face="helvetica" size="3">The camera and its tape were placed in a sealed box and forwarded to the league office for investigation, the sources said. </font>

</p><font face="helvetica" size="3">"We don't have any comment," an NFL spokesman said Monday. </font>

</p><font face="helvetica" size="3">The Patriots' cameraman was suspected of aiming his camera at the Jets' defensive coaches who were sending signals to their unit on the field, the sources said. The league also is investigating some radio frequency issues that occurred during the game. </font>

</p><font face="helvetica" size="3">The league's competition committee could conduct a conference call about the incident, which violates NFL policy, and ultimately recommend a penalty that could cost the Patriots a future draft pick or picks if it verifies that the team was spying on the Jets. </font>

</p><font face="helvetica" size="3">"It's not their first time," a member of the committee, who did not wish to be identified, said. </font>

</p><font face="helvetica" size="3">In fact, Green Bay Packers president Bob Harlan confirmed a similar incident that occurred when the Patriots played at Lambeau Field last Nov. 19. The same cameraman who was questioned by NFL security on Sunday was also the one whom the Packers removed from the sideline and escorted from the field during their 2006 game, according to Packers security official Doug Collins. </font>

</p><font face="helvetica" size="3">"From what I can remember, he had quite a fit when we took him out," Harlan said. "We had gotten word before the game that they [the Patriots] did this sort of thing, so we were looking for it." </font>

    </p>

<font face="helvetica" size="3">A Jets official declined comment Monday, directing an inquiry to the league office. The Patriots also did not have immediate comment. </font></p>

When I first saw this, I thought it was just a rivalry thing with the Jets, but obviously not if they did it at a Packers game as well. Is it just a need to win, no matter what? Where do you think this comes from? How highup does this go? Is this a widespread thing? I've heard of baseball teams stealing signs, but not so much with football, does it happen more often than we know?

<font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif">C'mon man, the Patriots do something sneaky? Next you'll be telling me that the Refs would invent a "rule" on the spot just to help them win a game!</font>

Sigh. I hope this is not untrue, but I wouldn't put it past the organization to do something like this.

I think they should be forced to forfeit the game. Also, take away all the previous championships.</p>

I'm not surprised. Snowplows. Tuck Rules. HGH. Stealing signals. Does any team have a longer list of cheating tactics than the Patriots? If Bill Belichick will steal someone's wife, do you really think that he would see anythingwrong with stealing some signals? I'm just wondering if we will hear anything about this tape or will it be "lost." I bet Robert Kraft can make it disappear. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if the student dentist that hit a nerve while giving me a shot of novacaine wasn't sent to shut me up. Well, the bimbo didn't get the job done cause I'm still breathing and typing. Personally, I think taking away the Patriots championships isn't enough. Those cheaters shouldn't be allowed to wear our countries colors. Belichick, Brady and company (BBC?) are sullying our countries reputation and I won't stand for it and Robbie K. can't shut me up. You can't stop the DWO, you can only hope to contain us.

Looks like the plan is to penalize them multiple picks. Then use the compensatory pick system to give them back without anyone realizing. Got to love the arbritary pick distribution system to slightly unbalance league. one more way patriots cheated that no one has pointed out . . . HGH! That is why BB is so shady about injury reports. He knows his injured player is juicing and will make miraculous recovery so he plays it close to the vest all the time.</p>

They really can't prove that they cheated to win the Super Bowls. If they could then I think your right but unless they can prove that New England cheated to win the Super Bowls then I don't think that would ever happen.</p>

I agree that the game should go to the Jets. I say keep the stats the same but change the score to 2-0 in favor of the Jets.</p>

Score for forfeit is 1-0. I see your point. You have to take that stance with farve having cheated just as blatantly as the packers, and you wouldnt want his accomplishments wiped away. Obviously your bias clouds your judgement. It happens. No big deal.

I dont believe this should be against the rules, but since it is, throw the book at them....If you look at the facts, its pretty obvious that the Patriots have had this sort of advantage for a long time....Belicheckwhile in Cleveland was a below average coach, now hes thought to be head and shoulders above all others....Brady was a QB that fell to the 6th round of the draft and now hes a top 2 or three QB....they have been overachieving for years, and I guess we know why now....how easy is it to move the ball when you know what the defense is going to do? that could explain a lot of things....all of this is theoretical and likely cant be proven, but lets note what happens from this point forward....the Patriots always do better than their talent level would suggest, so lets see what happens if the NFL shuts down this practice....if they suddenly become an underachieving team, it will be very suspicious....

the more i think about this, the more I think its logical that they got caught against the Jets....Mangini was there, he knew they do it, so he had the NFL ready for it

If the Pats start losing a lot, then I think your theory would make sense. For the moment, people are getting really carried away though.</p>

They should lose a 3rd rounder, fire the guy who recorded it, and be forced to give the jets the victory in week1.
