QUOTE (TheBeef)

I dont believe this should be against the rules, but since it is, throw the book at them....If you look at the facts, its pretty obvious that the Patriots have had this sort of advantage for a long time....Belicheck while in Cleveland was a below average coach, now hes thought to be head and shoulders above all others....Brady was a QB that fell to the 6th round of the draft and now hes a top 2 or three QB....they have been overachieving for years, and I guess we know why now....how easy is it to move the ball when you know what the defense is going to do? that could explain a lot of things....all of this is theoretical and likely cant be proven, but lets note what happens from this point forward....the Patriots always do better than their talent level would suggest, so lets see what happens if the NFL shuts down this practice....if they suddenly become an underachieving team, it will be very suspicious....

If the Pats start losing a lot, then I think your theory would make sense. For the moment, people are getting really carried away though.

I guess. If you assume this was the only way they were cheating. I still contend they give players HGH to recover from injury (see harrison) and then use thier injury report as a shield to hide the fact that these players recover so fast. Fill it with BS and then no one really is ever sure about any injuries. Obviously there are a long list of ways the patriots have been cheating for the past few years. I would go as far as to say that i have to question if Kraft cheese didnt steal the recipe from Borden. I think the franchise should be taken from kraft, and resold with profits going to charity.

You can't just say that the Patriots are the better team anymore. If everyone is doing what the Patriots are being accused of doing, which is videotaping opposing team's signals, then where are those stories? You know that if anyone had them then they would be coming out right now. Someone would be saying so-so does this too, especially the Patriots since they are on the defensive. The Patriots are dirty and everything touching them gets an asteriks right now. I think BF1 is right on about the Patriots using HGH. If I were the NFL commish, I would be watching the Patsies like a hawk because I wouldn't be surprised if the team is pushing their use. I'm not a big Dr.Z fan, but here is a link to an article where he describes some conversations that NFL people have had regarding the Patriots and how they felt the Patriots might be screwing with them.

Every team tries to steal signals, that's not even up for debate. The only thing the Patriots did to get them in trouble is using a video camera on the sidelines. I realize the Patriots are now basically the Yankees of the NFL, but people need to find some legit criticisms (like Rodney Harrison taking HGH) if they're going to hate on them.

We have already all agreed that the HGH and video camera are legitimate reasons for criticism. Anyone outside Boston agrees that the Tuck rule was a load of BS as well, and smells of conspiracy (and allowed them advancement into the next round of the playoffs that year for their first SB). All this is plenty of material when forming legitimate criticism of the Patriots. They have been aided by forces outside the field of play, illegitimately.

The Tuck rule was lame, but conspiracy? It is a stupid interpretation/stupid rule. Nobody knows how many times this camera guy was used. All you've got is two regular season games.

And nobody knows who the hell takes HGH (aside from Rodney Harrison and a handful of others), so please stop speculating about that. This is comical.

Got to love the everyone else did it to justify my bad behavior argument. Everyone else is murdering people, so if i kill someone, you shouldnt punish me or tarnish my name since everyone else was doing it.

FYI - the rule isnt against stealing signals, its against the use of a camera to do it. Hire a lip reader or a psychic or your mama. They are the biggest cheaters since farve and strahan. I would go as far as to say there is more against them than farve, and i would even say i hate patriots now more than packers.

I'm hearing rumors that on NFL Total Access, tomorrow night, it will be revealed that Alex Shelley is Bill Belichick's bastard son. So, there's no telling how long the spying has been going on.

I'm just not sure how Bill Belicheat has escaped suspension. If a player can be suspended for doing something wrong, then coaches should face suspensions too.

Do you suppose Tom Brady is calling his own signals or mocking the Jets by telling them where the cameras are?

As Blackadder once told me, the court of public opinion is always in session. The amount of evidence that it took to condemn Barry Bonds in the eyes of baseball fans is less than the amount of evidence that it will take to put an asterick next to the New England Patriots "dynasty" from here on out.

No referee had ever implemented the Tuck rule in a century of football - until it was clear that the Patriots were about to get knocked out of the playoffs. There were plenty of plays prior to that they could have called it. In fact, the way the play went down, it wasn't technically a tuck, it was an actual fumble when you look at the replay. The rest of the world outside of Foxboro can't be wrong on this.

And tell me about these various plays that went in their favor. Even if they got favorable calls, how do you know it was on purpose?

Barry Bonds has a mountain of evidence against him.

There were plays that actually had the "tuck" which were not called tuck plays, prior to *that* game, between other teams. I watched a few of them on televsion shortly after the tuck incident went down. It was basically two guys discussing the tuck, the history of similar plays, and how NFL officials had never called them. Don't ask me to produce the footage, the games, or anything else about it, because I do not remember all of them at this point. Suffice it to say, NE got the first ever call on that rule.

Possession is 9/10 th's of the law. Rodney Harrison failed a drug test for HGH. Barry Bonds has yet to fail a test for steriods. A Patriot employee got caught red-handed with the video camera. Proof.

Also regarding Bonds. Since the league has never taken any action on his "alleged" steroid use, Giants fans will forever be able to use the excuse that what he took was not illegal at the time when he "allegedly" took it. What the Patriots are accused of *is* illegal, and they were also *punished*. There is no wiggle room, no excuses and certainly no sympathy for them. This *is* a much bigger asterick.

Blackadder, a miami fan/employee should get one of those snowplows and go plow and asterick right in the middle of Gillette Field. That would make me laugh.

Don't give Dale any ideas. LOL? We'd hate to have to have the field resodded yet again. Though, this time there would be an actual valid claim to do "yardwork"

If a Miami fan drives the snowplow, a Raider fan should make surethe driver is properly seated i.e tucked in behind the wheel.rofl

So a snow plow invalidates their Superbowls? And they are allowed to do a lot of things to their field.

It is much easier to cite sources that address Bonds' fraudulent stats throughout the peak period of his dominance. The only argument people can make about the Pats is that they "probably did it in X game too".

There is nothing that I need to prove, the evidence is all laid out before us, and the Patriots have to face the music. Apparently, Goodell had enough evidence:

    1) failed drug test by Harrison. you want to dispute that? Do I need to prove that he failed the test for you?

    2) Video camera. Again, the evidence is already there, and you have seen it along with everyone else.
