Q. Josh Childress said earlier this summer that you guys played in San Diego and that you were as physical and explosive as he's seen you. Do you feel like you've finally come into your own physically?

    A. The strange thing for me this summer was that I didn't have summer league to deal with. That was a bit different and actually it had me worried a little bit, because I wanted to make sure I'd be ready to go physically for what we're doing right now. But my trainer [in Chapel Hill] did a great job bringing me along slower than usual. But I'm right around 240 pounds right now; actually I'm about 242. I was 238 in college but I feel a bit quicker and more explosive than I ever have in the past. I don't think I've lost any quickness and I feel as balanced, physically, as I can remember feeling. I feel great.

Marvin Williams is a guy I'm not impressed yet with. I mean, now with Horford, we have a great young PF/C core, also with Shelden Williams, which I thought was pointless, but I guess it fits with our slogan. Marvin and Horford on the floor at the same time could be good and bad. I mean, both can score, and play defense. Hopefully, Horford, M. Williams and S. Williams can can play well, because that is a great young core of young forwards.

    Go Marvin! Four whole pounds!

I really have never been impressed with Marvin Williams or Atlanta taking him over Chris Paul. Every area of his game is still as raw as it was when he came out of college, and he seems lost on the court at all times. I know he's still young, but I haven't seen much improvement whatsoever from Marvin in his first two years. Usually, the stars of the league who came out early start(ed) to break out in year 3. Hopefully we see some Marvin take it to the next level, but I got to be honest with you - I don't see superstar in him.

I see Marvin being an above average player, who can score, but he will nothing more then that. I think he has that potential, but he might not take that next step. Maybe Horford will be able to help him, along with Shelden Williams, which I thought was a pointless pick. Could of took Roy or Gay or Foye, but whatever.

The only thing holding Marvin back is his aggresiveness and him not being able to finish after contact, with added confidence and him getting stronger, that should come. He'll still play major minutes this season, dispite getting Horford. He'll play around 30-35 minutes

Williams should be playing a lot more minutes. I see this is bad for Zaza because Horford, Williams, Williams will be big in the front court. I'm not worried about Marvin though, he was a great college player, and he knows how to play. He will come out this year, and play a big role for the Hawks.
