so cubuffsman78 what does he have to do to make you think that hes a good QB or is that impossible because hes a giant and youre a homer ?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (vikingfan)</div><div class='quotemain'>I still haven't heard if you think that Brad Johnson is an elite QB...</div> That's a tough one VF. I don't know whether I can call him elite. I'm actually a big fan of his, and I find him very valuable to a lot of teams. I guess he forces me to redefine what I consider elite because he doesn't neatly fit into the "in" or "out" category. Like I said, I really like him and would even consider taking him as the Dallas starter over Bledsoe if I had the chance. He does an outstanding job of leading a team, but I'm not sure I'd like him as much if he was expected to carry a team. To me, elite has always been the star that everyone leans on, but not the way teams end up leaning on Johnson. Maybe I've been wrong thinking that way, so I guess its food for thought and this point.
I definitely understand that - I'm mainly asking those who believe that comp % is the most important factor. Brad Johnson is a very good QB, and if you need a veteran on the team he's probably one of the best, but he's a system QB. The benefit to Johnson is that he seems to be able to fit almost any system.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (vikingfan)</div><div class='quotemain'>I still haven't heard if you think that Brad Johnson is an elite QB...</div> Lets talk after he faces bears D, and see where we stand

I will rip my team anytime. Eli has to show me his decision making is really improved. Personally, I'm not high on either secondary he's beaten up on this season especially the Eagles. He really struggled down the stretch last season and looked horrid in the playoff game. There are just as many bad stats to compliment his good stats last year. I'm a Cowboys fan as I have stated many times before and I felt the same way about Bledsoe last year. He made too many mistakes for my liking.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (vikingfan)</div><div class='quotemain'>I still haven't heard if you think that Brad Johnson is an elite QB...</div> I'm a fan of Brad Johnson's. He's a smart QB, but I don't think he is an elite QB. Elite means the best of the best...it should be a very exclusionary group. Not just anyone should be given membership. Johnson, by no means, is a bad QB. He's a Super Bowl winning QB and he rarely makes mistakes. Sounds like Trent Dilfer a few years ago doesn't it? Dilfer wasn't close to elite. Johnson has better skills and is more of a threat than Dilfer, but I still see Johnson as a bus driving QB. He is the best QB in his division though. I'm not going to change my mind about players after two games into a season. That's overreaction when a person does that. I'm not going to fall into the trap of saying that Rex Grossman is a great QB after the 1st two weeks. Or that Jake Delhomme sucks....Or even that Shaun Alexander has lost a step. It's 2 weeks! 15 weeks to go!! I may change my opinions after about 6 weeks into the season.
That was some come back by the Giants no matter who it's against. Clearly the Eagles lack of running game cost them in the end. The Colts almost had a similar fate the previous week. This will only magnify itself when the cold weather months are upon us.

Just because I rip on one Giants player who a lot of people, not just me, believe is not a great QB at this point in his career does not make me biased. Do I cheer for the Giants, Redskins, or Eagles? No...but add several other teams to that as well. I can admit when a player on one of those teams is great and if one of those teams is great. There is no team bias involved in my feelings on Eli at all. Again, ask people who have seen a significant amount of posts from me and they'll tell you this is true. I trashed Mark Brunell before the season too. So that's biased as well? I've trashed TO, Julius Jones and Bledsoe, but that can still be bias? So then anything you say about Brett Favre is biased right? There have been many players on teams I hate that I liked a lot. Steve Young was one. I really don't like the 49ers either. Donovan McNabb is another. I liked McNabb as a player and a person before all of the stupid TO drama that I think is partly his fault. Reggie White, Tiki Barber, Stephen Davis, Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Randall Cunningham, Clyde Simmons, Jon Runyan, Jeremiah Trotter...the list goes on. And there are several more players that I don't neccesarily care for but will willingly admit that they are great players. Michael Strahan is one. I can't stand the guy, but I can't deny he's a great pass rushing DE. That would just be idiotic. Eli could join that list....but not now...not after two weeks into a season...
I think Eli has got himself in a great situation right now. The weapons he has on offense are comparable to that of Peyton's in Indy. With the Redskins(my team to win the East) 0-2 & the Cowboys losing TO for who knows how long, right now the Giants clearly have the edge.
Eli shut up the critics for at least a week now!NY fans need to back off of him, the kid is gonna be the Next.. Peyton Manning!Seriously, if they weren't brothers I still would have said that!

Manning is good, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. The eagles had a "HUGE" part in the lose to giants considering they gave up. When a teams offense and defense just gives up then yes it will leave you room to make a comeback. Im not saying manning is bad, but he is nowhere near his brothers skill, AND DEFINETLEY NO WHERE NEAR THAT OF UNITAS OR BRADSHAW. You are definetley jumping the gun. Yes i know u are going to tell me how a team just dosent give up but come on. Watch the game again and you will see the eagles 2nd half defense was not nearly as good as it was in the first half, same goes for offense and it definetley had nothing to do with giants offense being to good, or making them too tired. Plain and simple eagles stopped playing. And yes giants won and i will give you that. But that still doesent change the fact that when the deffense was playing they had 8 sacks, and only a touchdown scored against. Conclusion manning is good, but he is definetley not that of Unitas bradshaw elway. The kid doesent even deserve to be near those names let alone compared to them. Dallas cowboy radio i dont know what your smoking and i dont know how you managed to get to everyone on this board, but it must be some good stuff to be comparing a kid who threw 3 intos against a seatle defense to Unitas.
