You have the number one overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft and Vince Young stayed ofr his senior season but lost in nat. title game to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.....

You need a quaretrback.....You are the Green Bay Packers...

    WHO Do you pick?

    Brady Quinn?
    Vince Young?
    Chris Leak?
    Drew Tate?
    ....?

Aaron Rodgers will be fine. The Packers have no need to draft a QB in 2007.

you are missing a QB by the name of Troy Smith from Ohio State he is gonna be a great QB in the NFL i think he would go first especially if Ohio State keeps up their season

Packers aren't as bad as the Titans, Raiders, and Lions right now. Green Bay actually played pretty well last week and were in the game. The same can't be said for the other 3. This is such and unrealistic thread though.

    1. ND is vastly overrated and it showed last Saturday so what is the point of this question. Should it be put in the smack section instead since this is unrealistic and you just taking a shot at the Packers right now. ND has no chance of going to the National Title game.

    2. If Young came back pending an injury, Texas would run the table again and win the National Title. He's that good and the majority of the Longhorns are back. Young with Texas at home wouldn't lose to Ohio State.

    3. Related to the above, ND wouldn't stand a chance against a Vince Young lead Texas team. They couldn't play with a Chad Henne lead Michigan team at home.

    4. Young would clearly be the #1 overall pick if he had stayed for his senior year. He went #3 in this Draft and he wasn't "NFL Ready" This year he would have another year under his belt and he's in a weaker Draft Class. If a team needs a QB, then Young would go #1 overall to Packers, Raiders, Titans, Lions.. whoever you want to throw out there. He would have 2 BCS Titles and a Heisman trophy. He would be one of the better college QB's ever. Brady Quinn is the only real competition on there and probably would of been the 3rd or 4th QB off the board in this years Draft behind Young.

    5. Chris Leak won't go 1st round. He's to small for the NFL. Drew Tate won't go 1st round either. Brian Brohm of Louisville and Drew Stanton of Michigan State are better prospects than those 2. Hence the unrealistic post. Troy Smith will go ahead of them as well but wouldn?t go before Young or Quinn at this moment.

What he said....except that I think Ohio St. would have a chance against Texas even with Vince Young.

I think Troy Smith could be a 1st round pick, but he's really not all that tall for an NFL prospect. His throwing mechanics and accuracy are better than Youngs though.

Quinn and Young would battle for the 1st pick. Don't throw the overrated title on ND just yet Porky. I think Michigan was underrated if anything. The momentum swung Michigan's way so early that, in rivalries like that one, it was just too much for ND to come back from. That Michigan team was already hyped up for that game and when they can get turnovers and other things to come their way early then it gives an opportunity for a blowout. I think ND's defense was a concern this year anyway and Michigan hit it deep and often.

Drew Tate has the same issue Chris Leak does. Neither one will even be a 1st day pick and they're definitely not even in the top 5 of the position.

But Vince didn't stay so now he's in Tennessee helping the Titans make a run at the 2007 1st pick.

ND as the #2 team in the country is overrated in my opinion. I think their right where there at. A 7-15 team. Last year I didn't think they deserved a BCS Bowl and they got it because their ND. ND has always been overrated. Same with Miami and FSU every year. It's just the way it is.

I think without question Young would go #1 overall. He has better poise and plays big in big games. Brady Quinn has been outplayed by Troy Smith and Chad Henne in 2 big loses and he was at home against Henne. Any chance at the Heisman slipped away with last weeks awful peformance.

Oh wow...no way....Quinn still has a great shot at the Heisman. If he comes back and plays lights out for the rest of the season and has a great game against USC then why not give him the Heisman?! It's a 3 horse race to me at this point. Peterson, Quinn, and Smith...Right now, I favor Smith.

I think his Heisman chances are all but over. I agree that if he comes out and plays a lights out game against USC he has an outside chance but there is a very slim chance he wins it even with a good peformance against USC. I don't think he wins it. I think Peterson, Slayton, Smith, and maybe even Dwayne Jarrett all have better chances winning. Right now I think Smith is #1 and Peterson #2 but I won't rule out Slayton. Quinn right now is struggling. He didn't look good against Georgia Tech and was awful against Michigan. Part of winning the Heisman is playing big in big games. Quinn hasn't and that's why he won't win the Heisman.

I don't like Slaton to win it this year because of the total lack of competition he will play against. What defense will he go against that will challenge him? Louisville and no one else...

Maybe I'm misjudging it, but I think this way more of a fun what-if rather than all these things necessarily true or needed. Yes, Aaron is the guy in GB for now. But if this is just for fun, I would have gone with Young if he was still there. Otherwise, I might look at Quinn or Smith, although neither one of them impress me as an overall #1 pick. If I really needed a QB and Young wasn't there, I would take my chances with what was left in the second round. If the other teams are smart, I should have a good selection in the 2nd left yet.
