Last season with United needing a win a Woodison Park, Everton played their reserve goalkeeper instead of Tim Howard. The reason being was that even though the player was now Everton's because they had bought him (he was previously on loan) they had a gentlemans agreement not to play him. This was an illegal agreement of which went unpunished by the league surprise surprise.
Why bring this up you ask? Well unless you didn't know Everton were leading 2-0 and cruising then came a howler from the "reserve keeper" then an own goal from ex United player Phil Neville and then another howler from the keeper.United ran out 4-2 winners. So what? Well Everton have an agreement with United that each title ,cup etc they receive more money in payment of Rooney.
Well next week Everton play United again and lo and behold Tim Howard is injured again. He dislocated his finger playing for USA. He was ok to carry on playing in that match for a full 30 mins butNOW he can't play against United. Am I the only person here who smells something fishy?

i didnt know that he was injured again... but i see your point and there definaltley seems like something is going on.
How much is the clause for? Because Everton dropping points/places means less TV money. I'm not sure there is some weird conspiracy.
-Petey

Did anyone here post this comment at BBC?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A26773725
Great work if you did, it drew in 80 new visitors today. Keep it up!

Petey, exactly how? As long as they stay in the Premier League, the TV Money will stay the same, it's all about when and who they play.

QUOTE (Hudge)

Petey, exactly how? As long as they stay in the Premier League, the TV Money will stay the same, it's all about when and who they play.
The winner of the league get 50 million pounds, with each placed finished getting less money. The teams on the bottom collect around 30 million pounds. I don't have the exact breakdown, but I found an article that goes over this quickly.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml...8/nfootie18.xml

QUOTE

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Mr Scudamore said: "This deal really does take us on to another level. It means that the team at the top who got £30 million last year will get around £50 million while even those at the bottom will receive about £30 million."

So each and every point is valuable. They can make money off trying to get the most points possible, or what is suggested above. Would they risk sitting players, losing points and getting fined? That is a very big risk.
-Petey

What are the exact clauses? Do Everton get money for a 2nd place finish? What happens if ManU doesn't activiate the incentives, and Everton drops points to them? It's a sliding scale where they lose money for each place the finish lower.
-Petey

The match concerned last season virtually cemented Uniteds place as Chumpions. Everton lost £1.5m for dropping a place to Spurs but the bigger incentive was to gain £4m for Rooney. They had already qualified for Europe so that was already in the bag. Now i'm not saying anything untoward did happen but it was an ILLEGAL agreement that the 2 clubs had between themselves to not play Howard and when you look back the goalie for Everton virtually gifted United the points. Could be just coincidence but money talks and the way Moyes talks about his hero Ferguson is like listening to a loved up schoolboy and must be sickening for the bluenoses.

I was on about last season mainly but also that it just seemed like a coincidence that the goalie Tim Howard could play for the USA with a dislocated finger but not Everton.

Tim Howard was allowed to play last time but united confused themselves and said he was not allowed as he was on loan. I just want to see what happens when united play everton next
