Just like on ESPN and various message boards, this is the Celtics version of the Buy or Sell game. How it works. Rules are pretty simple. I'll start with the first question and someone will either "Buy or Sell" it. Defend your opinion on why you believe thestatementwill be true or false. After that, make up your own question and let someone else (obviously) answer it.Anyway, the start.Buy or Sell: The Boston Celtics will win at least 55 games this upcoming season.
Sell. It's not out of the question, but it will take a little to gel and come together as a cohesive unit. I think we should be one of the top seeds in the East, but I personally don't see any Eastern Conference team winning 55. I predict us to finish with a 49-33 record, good for 3rd seed in the East.
Buy or Sell: With his new surroundings and frequently getting put on the national spotlight, Kevin Garnett will be the NBA's 2008 MVP.

Buy - He'll average 25ppg 14rpg 6apg and 3bpg
Buy or Sell - I'll make it easy on you guys - The Celtics will become the 07/08 Champions of the NBA

QUOTE (CelticKing)

Buy - He'll average 25ppg 14rpg 6apg and 3bpg
No, he will not. I doubt he will win MVP either, as he has the luxury of defering to Pierce and Allen, which will make his statistics not remarkable enough to draw consideration.

QUOTE

Buy or Sell - I'll make it easy on you guys - The Celtics will become the 07/08 Champions of the NBA
Sell. Sell. Sell. Buy or Sell - With the addition of James Posey, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen will cut their regular season minutes down to about thirty-six each per game in order to stay fresh for the playoffs.

Sell, this team has been completely re-modeled, the team still needs to get used to playing with each other and develop as a team. Not this season, but maybe in 09.

Buy/Sell: James Posey averages 11-15 PPG.

I think 11 will be his max.
Buy/Sell: with the talent we now have, Rondo will shine and the talks of his shot will go away

Sell - Rondo is going to hurt the Celtics offense, but his defense should remain superb. Buy or Sell - The Celtics finish third or worse in the Eastern Conference.
Sell - it will be third or better. Three HUNGRY allstars still in their prime - in the East - that should be enough for 3rd or better.
Buy or Sell: Doc will be the Celtics coach after this season.

Buy, I have the C's finishing 3rd with a 49-33 record.
Buy or Sell: Tony Allen progressively recovers to the point where he's a key contributor by playoff time.

I really hope he proves me wrong.Buy or Sell: Pruitt will start after the all-star break.

Big time sell, Rondo is the guy, jump shot or not. The better question would be "will Pruitt be in the rotation after the All-Star break?"
Buy or Sell: Pierce hits 3 or more game winners in the regular season.

He's still not happy with the team.

buy: Danny Ainge seems like a trade-happy GM. maybe someone like an underacheiving posey, house, scalabrine, etc.
buy/sell: at least 2 of the 3 former all-stars will reappear in the 2008 All-Star game. (2 were on 2006's, Garnett & Allen, and 2007's, all 3 were-Garnett, Allen, & Pierce)

Buy. KG will be the starting 4 for the All-Star game, and I think Pierce gets himself back in as well (the only reason he didn't make it last year was because of the injury). Ray might, if the coaches are generous and if we have an excellent record at the break.
EDIT: You were wrong when you said Pierce was in last year, by the way.
Buy/Sell: Outside of the All-Star game, the Celtics will have 1 or more representative(s) included in the All-Star Weekend festivities/side events.
