Hopefully it's not too serious. Imagine if we had a chance to get him, damn would we be disappointed or what? Good luck and best of luck to a speedy recovery.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Trail Blazers C Oden to have exploratory knee surgeryMonday, September 10, 2007 09:41 PMPORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- Greg Oden has another injury concern entering his first season with the Portland Trail Blazers. The No. 1 overall pick in last June's draft, Oden will undergo exploratory arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday after experiencing pain in his right knee. A timetable for his return will be set following the procedure.Oden, who is one of the most hyped players to enter the NBA in years, has had trouble staying on the court this summer. He had his tonsils removed in July and needed nearly three weeks to recover. After surgery on his tonsils, the 7-foot center missed the rest of the Trail Blazers' summer league schedule and also missed Team USA's training camp in late July - which kept him out of August's FIBA Americas Championship in Las Vegas. It had been a sub-par summer debut for Oden, who collected just six points and two rebounds while getting disqualified with a league-maximum 10 fouls in his first game. He was slightly better in his second contest, collecting 13 points, five rebounds and four blocks with nine fouls. The 19-year-old Oden also was not completely healthy in his lone college season, battling through a wrist injury while leading Ohio State to the national championship game.</div>Link

I wish him good luck, but this doesn't look good. An injury prone first pick is never good for your team.

The sour grapes in me is a little happy about this - but I wish him well. He seems like a good kid, and it'd be good for the NBA for him to do well.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Causeway)</div><div class='quotemain'>The sour grapes in me is a little happy about this</div>Agreed. I still think the C's are better off now than they would've been with the first pick, but this makes me feel just a little more confident in saying that.

Better be careful... you don't want to catch any karmic backlash on this thing. The Celts stars are a bit long in the tooth.

I know, this really sucks. For Oden, for Portland, for basketball.
