My only guess as to why this topic was never addressed is for fear of the destruction of the league we all love, but it can't just be tossed under the rug. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/03/29/...ain683747.shtml
Costas Now had something on about steroids in the NFL. Jon Jansen of the Redskins said something like 20 to 30 percent of the NFL is on steroids. The funny thing is though most would think it's your star players but in reality it's not. It's your backups and kids trying to make the roster so they don't get cut. They take something so their isn't much pain or if their hurt they take something so they can get back on the field during training camp and make the rosters. So guys like Alexander, Manning, Brady etc aren't on roids. It's the backup players who are trying to take it so they can catch up. I'm not saying their aren't any big name players exploring with them. Carolina had a couple as we all are aware but their is not similarities with Baseball. Baseball had all it's stars Mark Maguire, Barry Bonds, and the biggest cheater ever Sammy Sosa all on steroids and all being the face of the league. Football is still a team sport where as Baseball one guy can make a huge difference. In football it's not so much because it?s a team sport. So unless an entire team goes out and does it, I don't think fans have much to be worried about in the NFL. I would say Baseball even after all the investigations still has a much bigger problem than the NFL and will until Bud Seliq retires. Congress even gave great praise to the NFL for knowing the severity of the problem where as Baseball acted like they didn?t know anything at all. I think the NFL is in good hands and that?s why it?s the best sport in the world right now.
