Personally, I think there can be arguments made for QBs other than Brady without anyone crying heresy. Football is a team sport and the Patriot teams that won Super Bowls were good all around teams. Brady has never won a Super Bowl on his own. If you took Brady off the Patriots and put him on another team, would he enjoy as much success? Peyton Manning is so productive that he deserves consideration. I think Peyton gets a bit of a raw deal when people drop the Colts' failure squarely on his back. It seems to me that every playoff, Peyton runs into a team that gets pressure up the middle and makes him throw on the run which he doesn't do nearly as well. I like and respect Dungy, but it baffles me why he doesn't do more to try and fix that problem.
Manning is the more skilled QB, but Brady has the intangibles that Manning will never have. Under pressure Manning has folded up every time. Brady keeps a level head at all times with the exception of that Denver game. The Patriots have never had a stud WR or top ten RB. The OL is slightly above average at best. Yes the defense during the SB runs was one of the best each time, but they've lost key members like Milloy & Law yet still managed to get by. The doubters can keep on doubting us, but as long as #12 is behind center the Pats are a contender every year.

In the clutch Manning has proven to not get it done. It's not like he didn't have the weapons to get it done either. He had Edgerrin James, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, and Brandon Stokley. Had one of the best offensive lines. When it comes to crunch time he fails to deliever. The best QB's in the game manage to beat the best defenses. They manage to beat the best teams. That's why their the best. In my opinion Manning is #2 and will be until he proves he can get it done in the clutch. Brady has proven he can move the ball with anything around him. His WR's were never top of the line. Until Dillon he didn't have much of a running game either. So Brady has beaten the best defenses (look no farther than the Steelers) with less talent around him on offense. Brady gets my vote until Manning shows he has the ability to step up and lead his team in the clutch.
I really couldn't care less if Brady never does another commercial again. As long as he keeps supplying the hardware that's all that matters. Manning is like the A-Rod of football right now, but with a personality.

Oh, and Brady didn't blame anyone other than himself, specifically, for the team's loss either. He mentioned things like "we made it easy for them" instead of being like Manning and throwing his offensive line under the bus.

Like Dale said, it is hard to compare the QBs because of the teams they are on but can you imagine what Brady would have been able to do last year if he had Harrison, Wayne, and Edge? Now THAT would have been fun to watch. I believe that Brady even kept a level head in the Denver game. When you're allowing turnovers like crazy and you are still able to engineer a 2-play TD drive with bad field position, that says something about your ability to play football. I believe that the QB is the most important position in football and it carries the most responsibility BY FAR. Therefore, I also believe that Brady would turn any team into a better team. No, not Super Bowl winning, but better.
To suggest that Manning could replace Brady & the Pats would not miss a beat is silly. Peyton relies on timing & protection is key to his success. With our OL Manning would get frustrated & force balls into coverage. Brady has the ability to avoid pressure. He doesn't have a rocket arm, but he runs the screen better than any QB. He reads the S off better than most. And as mentioned he rarely loses focus under the biggest pressure situations.
One person said that Peyton Manning is the best QB in the game, but that's one too many for Patriot fans.
You like things to be in writing so now that I have the time to dig for it, here it is. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/7462162 A lot of people think Manning is the God of the QB position. I couldn't agree more. I would like to add that I think the QB position is the most important position in football though, when it comes to responsibility and load carrying. Brady is focused and stays that way no matter what, even when Denver gave him his first playoff loss. The same can't be said for Manning. The most recent example is against the Steelers when Manning turned into a complete "CF" once he started getting hit. Most QBs are that way though. No. He would make said team better though. It might surprise you as to how much. That sounds like a weakness to me. I agree that he is a stat king but he has some weaknesses that are pretty major. That is the thing about Brady, he has weaknesses. What sets them apart is his ability to overcome them and adjust quickly to them. Peyton doesn't respect him and that is another monumental problem. Dungy sends the kicking team on the field and Manning sends them back off, effectively slapping Dungy in the face. It worked, but it still showed the glaring coach/QB problem that the Colts have. You see, I see Tom Brady as the ALL AROUND best QB in the league because of his respect for his team, his coaches, and his poise at the QB position. Like Vinatieri is as a kicker, he is CLUTCH. He has an all around better attitude and he would never slap Belichick in the face like Manning did to Dungy. Even though he watched his #1 and #2 WRs slip away from him he didn't implode. It clearly affected him but he still maintained his positive attitude and is moving on. I can't imagine what Manning would have said if he had lost Harrison and Wayne this offseason, thus having to work with brand new faces.

To me, he is the definition of success. For someone to face "you can't do it" in every shape and form and then DO IT is amazing to me, especially in this day and age. There is so much negativity in the world in general and he rises above it. Everyone thought he lacked the skills to make it in the NFL as evidenced by his draft position. He proved them wrong and I love that. When someone tells me I can't do something it ignites a fire inside of me to achieve what they say I can't. For instance, I want to be a millionaire by the time I'm 35 years old. I'm 23 now and all of my family, friends, etc. say that it is just not possible for me to do it. That "you can't" attitude they have drives me harder to get it done. Come hell or high water, I will.

Sure, Brady has won games - he deserves respect for that. But no QB, absolutely none, do as much as Manning does for his team. Manning's responsibilities are so much more than any other QB. Brady has been well coached, has a great temperment, and is an elite QB. He is also playing for the coach of the decade. I think if Brady were on any other team (not now, but when given the chance to start) he would not be enjoying as much success.
Love Manning. The Commercials are riot. FWIW; PM said he hates to play the phins because Zack Thomas knows exactly what the audible will be when Peyton changes plays @ the LOS.

He was a dominant high school athelete with 100s of people telling him how great he was, he started at michigan, and got a full scholarship. He was DRAFTED, by a team that obviously thought he could do something. Everyone didnt think he lacked the skills or patriots wouldnt have drafted him.
