"We got in a good situation early," Los Angeles manager MikeScioscia said. "We ran the bases aggressively. We kept playingthe game hard."

Chone Figgins scored three runs, had two hits and two stolenbases for Anaheim.

"It makes it tough on other teams," Figgins said of the Angels'early success. "They know they have to put some runs on theboard themselves."

Cabrera (9-16), who lost for the fourth straight time, is tiedfor the most losses in baseball. He gave up a career-high 10runs, eight earned in 4 1/3 innings.

"He wanted to pitch well tonight. I thought that's what hismindset was," Orioles manager Dave Trembley said.

"I have to be ready when the playoffs come."

Trembley was ejected during the five-run fourth for arguing aforce-out call. Second base umpire Paul Emmel thumbed him outfor the second time this season.

"It's a situation where I felt the guy was safe," Trembley said."That's all. He was safe."

Los Angeles scored five more runs in the eighth on five walks, just one hit and a throwing error by third baseman BrandonFahey. Orioles pitchers walked 12 Angels batters.
