QUOTE

A source confirmed that general manager Billy King would meet Monday with Rob Pelinka, the agent for Andre Iguodala, in their negotiations for a contract extension. The two sides have been talking periodically since July. Iguodala, a guard and forward, is entering his fourth season and is to make $2.8 million. The Sacramento Kings recently signed fourth-year guard Kevin Martin to a five-year extension worth about $55 million.
The Sixers have until Oct. 31 to sign Iguodala to an extension. If they do not, the two sides cannot resume negotiations until July.

Source: Philly.com

Iggy's certainly worth a similar contract to Martin.
My own concerns are what these contracts mean for Ben Gordon and Luol Deng.

Andre Iguodala will probably get around the 11 million or 12 million a year type of money. And I think he deserves it. I just hope Billy King doesn't come in and offer him a 14 million a year deal or something like that, because as good as Iguodala is, I don't see him as a franchise player. King has definetely had his past experiences of overpaying players, so I'm not exactly confident in these negotiations. I'm also interested in how much Rashard Lewis's big salary will impact the negotiations. God forbid Billy King will pay Iguodala even more than Lewis!
