This is a good move for adding depth and athleticism but not much else</p> Man if you could combine Armstrong and Simmons' skillsets you'd have one hell of a player.</p>

They moved quick on this signing. I just posted an article yesterday saying the Hornets were looking for a backup center to push Simmons and Hilton in the rotation, and bam they sign Melvin Ely. I think this was the perfect signing for what the Hornets were trying to accomplish. Byron Scott has a good track record for getting produciton out of lanky forwards.
