When I saw the article on espn.com, I just sat there saying "whoa, whoa, whoa ..." for an entire minute. Man, Greg Oden can't be happy about all that has happened. First the poor play in the summer league, then (and during) the tonsils, then the slight knee pain, and now, the season. He doesn't really seem like a really competitive guy, but I guess he won't like it when people start talking about Durant being the better player, and the one who deserved to go #1.

They should have either picked Durant, or traded the pick for something better. (could have gotten KG probably)

Like I said in a thread not too long ago. Portland is to be put at fault for continueing to ignore medical red flags, first with Roy, and now with Oden.
He got a red dot for his right knee at the Orlando Pre-Draft camp. Portlands doing this to themselves.

i was so sad for oden, poor guy is what, 19 years old? has so much pressure put on him as the next great big man, he hasnt played an nba game yet, and after being picked number one in the draft he probably couldnt wait to play this season, and now he cant because of his knee. that is horrible news and i imagine he is extremely upset about it. he's just a kid, despite his size (or his looks) he is just a kid, and for all this to happen to him before he even plays one game of nba basketball is extremely depressing. i feel really really sorry for him, and i am upset that we will miss out on oden playing this year.
This is sad, and I really wanted him to be successful and live up to the hype, hopefully he'll recover from this.

Although to the Blazers fans on BBF.com....karma is a ***** isn't it!

The worst part of it is we're going to hear nothing but "I told you so's" for the next couple of weeks. I've been a big supporter of Oden ever since I saw him in college and there's no doubt in my mind he's worthy of the number one pick if he can stop getting this random freak injuries. Hope he recovers quickly.
I was looking forward to those late nights watching the Blazers.
The NBA has had a complete nightmare offseason.

This has to be a massive dissapointment for the Blazers. They'd really made an effort to turn their team around, but then their potential franchise player goes down with a major injury. Oden would've created a lot of buzz, even if the team struggles again. Now his development is effectively set back a year.
If Greg Oden doesn't play a single game this season, does that mean he's eligible for ROY in 08 - 09?
