QUOTE

Shoe Biz Sep 13 - Ben Wallace will be signing autographs and showing off his new basketball shoe at 4 this afternoon at the Steve & Barry's store at Fairlane Town Center in Dearborn.

The shoe he's touting, the Big Ben Collection, comes with a retail price of $14.95.

"All of the feedback has been positive," said Wallace, who last season began wearing the $14.95 Starbury sneakers produced by Steve & Barry's for Knicks guard Stephon Marbury. The $15 sneaker has caused a stir in the footwear industry. About the only people who haven't been singing the praises of the Starbury and Big Ben Collection are those affiliated with major shoe companies such as Nike and adidas, whose sneakers continue to retail in excess of $100.
