I didnt see the game, but I saw highlights and I thought 2 of the interceptions were redzone passes into the end zone....if thats correct, I dont see how they didnt directly lose the game....
has he lost it...to early to tell...he is coming back from injury and has to work his way back to a very high standard that everyone set for him after a wonderful jump start to his career.

(Veron Haynes) First pick was when we were already up 7-0, second (end zone) was at the end of the game when were down 28-20. His play didn't cost the game, the fumbles did.
The Steeler defense has been playing incredible in my opinion. The offense has been hanging the D out to dry the first three weeks and they have still managed to keep them in every game. The Steelers COMPLETELY shut Chad Johnson out and Palmer's limited success was a product of the Steeler offense setting him up time and time again. has Ben lost it? no way...this Big Ben reminds me of the one that played the preseason last year. He really hasn't had a chance to get back into game shape...Cowher limited him this preseason, then the appendix. He will settle in.. Anyone watched the game they will tell you that Nate Washington dropped a TD on a perfectly thrown slant in the fourth quarter that could have changed the Steelers gameplan toward end the game. Had they scored the TD , they could have played a little more conservatively on the last drive trying to set up a possible FG. Not to go on another what-if tangent.....the point is, Ben had one hell of an off-season and I really think that after the bye week he will be ready for a run.... The Bengals have shown themselves to be vulnerable and the Ravens barely beat Cleveland last week...the Steelers will be ready to play when they get back and everyone knows that the time to peak is later in the season.
i dont think its fair to say anyone has lost it after two losses. A real time period to tell is half a season or so lets be fair to Big Ben in his defense he has had two injuries and limited practice time

However, I didn't see the Bengals-Steelers game, so I'm withholding judgement at this point. Even simple, 1st quarter running plays. For example, what effect could running for 8 yards on a play have over running 4 yards? That one play could ultimately make the difference in the game. So yeah, 3 picks does influence the outcome of the game. What if that hadn't happend and those drives would have been TD drives? All other things remaining equal, Cincy would have been in trouble. That is why I get so pissed off when I watch Pats games sometimes. They'll completely bomb a play here and there and I'll be thinking that those bad decisions cost them the game. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes they bounce back.

Thats the great thing about football, you never really know what's going to happen. Compare that to say....Baseball, where the salary situation makes it about as easy for small market teams to consistently win as it is for me to hit the lottery. (This is coming from a bitter Pirates fan) You really do have to love the fact that every NFL game, even the"experts" really have no idea what's going to happen.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (manofsteel)</div><div class='quotemain'>The Steelers COMPLETELY shut Chad Johnson out</div> I heard that Chad was used as a decoy. I guess it depends on perspective? Damn shame that the Steelers could not contain Housh or Henry that week. Eh?

Had you said Keanu Reeves & JP Losman or Howdy Doody and Mike Shanhan yeah I'm in complete agreement. I still say Nick half assed the flag throw just to cover all the bases. I stand by my initial theory that it would not have made a damn bit of difference on the games outcome.
In Ben Roethlisberger's last 4 starts hes thrown zero TDs and 9 Ints....thats more than a slump, thats a trend....hes not the same guy....
First, people have been building up Rothlisberger too quickly. Yes, he's had success, but that was on a very talented Steelers team. He's been doing a good job of playing with the system, but he has never been a QB that could put a team on his back and carry them. In fact, it was the overall talent of the team that bailed him out in a not so great Super Bowl performance last January. Second, he has had one heck of an offseason which has to have affected his gameshape and his ability to find a new offensive idenitity as the Steelers are replacing some important players with new guys. There's no Bus or Antowan Randle El. Staley is always hurt and Willie Parker is inconsistant. I have to believe that the motorcycle wreck and emergency appendectomy has affected Rothlisberger's ability to find chemistry with his current teammates. I think benching Rothlisberger would be a mistake, unless he needs more time to heal. Batch isn't the answer for the Steelers' future. Don't kill Rothlisberger's confidence. Let him play through this and find an offensive identity with his newer teammates. (After Ward, I didn't recognize the next couple of recievers in the boxscore.) It's up Cowher and his staff to find an offensive gameplan that will help his offense find some success and minimize their weaknesses until they find their way.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheBeef)</div><div class='quotemain'>In Ben Roethlisberger's last 4 starts hes thrown zero TDs and 9 Ints....thats more than a slump, thats a trend....hes not the same guy....</div> He damn sure isn't the same guy. I bet Brady or Manning would be the same way if they went through what he has though. When people get hurt and have health problems, it messes with them both physically and mentally. I still can't believe that I picked the Steelers to beat the Chargers at home last night. WTF was I thinking? I could have been 11-2 so far with my weekly picks.
Classic example of product of the system maybe??? If there is one I think he's the guy to look at now. He's really struggling and rushed back. I won't count Pittsburgh out yet but if I had to guess right now there going to miss the playoffs.
