Righthander Ubaldo Jimenez walked the first batter he faced onfour pitches. Soon after, Jeremy Hermida ripped a triple beyondthe reach of diving center fielder Cory Sullivan to scoreRamirez, and the Rockies trailed 2-0 after the first inning. Down 5-0, Jimenez was chased after just three innings and anunproductive 69 pitches. "I couldn't find the strike zone with my fastball or any of mybreaking pitches," Jimenez said. In the third inning, Hermida reached base on an error byJimenez. Hermida and Josh Willingham were eventually broughthome after Miguel Olivo lifted a double to center. Any momentum Colorado may have gained was squashed in the sixth,when Cabrera blasted his first career grand slam on a two-out,2-1 pitch from Juan Morillo. "Well, special. He's a special guy," Gonzalez said of Cabrera."It's hard to believe that was the first grand slam that he'sever hit with the type of talent that he is." Logan Kensing (1-0) picked up his second career win by tossingtwo innings of relief. Jimenez (3-4) took the loss, allowing five runs and five hits inthree innings. He issued four walks and struck out five.
