Lots of love for Brady, I see. We're talking over all, not just against Denver. [IMG]

As of this morning, Favre is #4 in passing yards in the NFL and tied for 3rd on the TD's list...so technically, he already IS a top 5 QB.

hes 3rd on the TD list tied with about 5 players. he has the 15th best QB passer rating. and its not all about stats. hes definitly not a top 5 QB.

And David Carr had the best QB Rating of any QB in the league this morning...so you put him top 5 too?

Yep, I'm drinking the Grossman kool-aid. I'm watching the Bears/Seahawks game right now and Grossman just seems to have the moxy that a QB needs. I'm convinced. I don't think he slumps off this season and he's a pro bowl QB as long as he stays healthy.

Your right it's not about stats but overall Favre has everything a top 5 QB needs to be. He has the moxy. He has the arm. He has the leadership ability. He is the type of QB that can win you a game on his own. If you erase last season most would consider Favre a top 5 QB throughout the league. So if your going to consider last season for Favre I hope we take in account of previous seasons by other QB's as well.

With that said I wouldn't rate him in the top 5.

    I like..

    1. Brady
    2. P. Manning
    3. Palmer
    4. Hasselback

After that it's a really tough call. I'm starting to like what I see out of Eli Manning and Rex Grossman right now. If I had to choose though I'd probably put McNabb at #5 right now. Favre I'd put in the top 10 if he continues to play as consistent as he has so far this year.

No, but in Carr's defense, today he:

    1. Threw a TD pass
    2. Ran in a TD
    3. Won his game
    4. Didn't throw a pick

So...yeah. Not a good day to bag on Carr.

0 picks for Carr this season. He is certainly making himself look legit.

Carr has been a good QB his entire career - this is why these discussions frustrate me. No single player can do it on his own in the NFL. They always need to have others around them executing.

Carr has been poor because he has had zero protection - any other team, I suspsect he would consistently be a top QB.

I'm not bagging on him...I'm asking do you consider him a top 5 QB. If your reasoning for considering Favre a top 5 QB right now is his stats, then why not Carr?

Small stat correction...Carr has thrown two interceptions...including one today.

I've been waiting for Carr to break out myself, but fact is...the protection isn't that much better this year especially with the lack of a running game this season. He's already been sacked 15 times, including 5 times today. Carr is simply learning to overcome the lack of protection which is impressive on his part. I am still asking despite all of this is he considered a top 5 QB because he is the highest rated passer right now?
