well despite the loss, I think the Jets really really proved themselves today. They stuck (and should have beaten) one of the best teams in the league. The offense played flawlessly from the 2nd quarter and on. Pennington had a great game and dont be fooled by that INT he had to throw the ball it was fourth down. The running game got on track and Coles and Cotchery are looking like a pretty great duo. Thier offense pretty much stuck with the Colts all game. The Jets defense obviously needs some work, they let the bad running Colts run all over them and its the Colts offense so we'll give them a break but they have to start making stops and have to start improving if this team is thinking playoffs. The real story though is the coaching moves. First right after the Jets scored they kicked a beautiful onside kick and recovered. Great playcalling and it worked as the Jets went up 14-7. But heres the questionable move the move thats gonna be all over NY this week. 4th and goal on the 2 yard line Mangini elects to go for it and throw the ball into the endzone instead of taking an easy 3 points to put the Jets up 17-14. Bad protection and good coverage messed up the ball and Chad was forced to throw and interception ad the Colts got it on the 20 yard line. Now if i were to go for it I would run the ball, for a couple of reasons. One the Jets last week scored on a very nice playaction fake TD for two yards against the Bills last game. You know the Colts were studying that play. 2nd if you run the ball and dont get it the Colts get it on their own 1 yard line, so you can be aggresive but play it safe. But the Colts read the play nicely and the Jets gave it to them on the 20 yard line and then went down the field and got a FG. The final score the Colts won 31-28. If they had gotten a FG they would have gone into overtime and it would have been whoever got the cointoss probably would have won the way the offenses were playing. Its questionable some people support the decision because if we had scored we would have been kissing Mangini's feet or the reasoning that we need as many points as possible vs the Colts. Its a dissapointing loss. But I think it shows how good the Jets really are. by the way that interception in the redzone was Chad Pennington's first interception thrown in the endzone in his career. He has 44 redzone touchdowns and 1 INT. Pretty impressive
Yes the Jets did improve IMO...they are going to be great in a few years IMO...D"Brick is the next Pace.
The Jets have really improved, I've been impressed with them this season especially with the play of Chad Pennington, who I truly believe is the key to their success.
Congrats to the Jets! That was very impressive to nearly get the win and answer each of the Colts haymakers....Kevan Barlow looking good in a Jets uny, ain't he?
What a finish that was. I like that Mangini took some chances knowing he would need as many points as he could get against Manning & Co. I find it ironic that the Colts had to bring in Gramatica to replace the injured Vinatieri. I think the Colts clealry overlooked the Jets & figured they could get away with a journeyman kicker this week.

The Ghost still worries me. He missed that FG WIDE against the Bengals. Is he the next Vanderjerk?
Back on topic, the Jets are looking good. If we play them again like we did the first game we will definitely lose.
