Are you questioning someones confidence while asking for more than 3 TDs?....perhaps I can offer a comprimise....why dont you guys agree to whatever the real line is when the game is played?

i'm trying to see if i can get him to be overconfident......i can't confidently say my team will beat the undefeated bears or beat the line....

After the Chiefs dominated the Niners like they did, I'd say the Bears will easily cover 16...

The NFL just doesnt work like that....its pretty rare for a team to win by 16 points in this league and spotting someone that much in a betting situation is crazy....it wouldnt be that shocking if the 49ers won that game outright, not becuase they are good or the Bears are bad, but becuase they are an NFL football team and have some world class talent....superior teams always have a letdown at some point and usually lose to a team that has no business playing with them, thats just how it works....

Good point, Beef. After all, the Steelers got their butts kicked by the Bengals who got whupped by the Patriots who got owned by the Broncos who got beat by the Rams who got knocked off by the 49ers who got destroyed by the Chiefs. Using the scoring logic from above, the Steelers better hope the Chiefs have to forfeit their game in two weeks or they are going to get beat by 91 points.

Well, I guess the Pats ARE better than the Bengals. I still can't believe they won, much less by that much.

Not to take anything away from the Bears but look at who they've played. They beat Green Bay 26-0, Detroit 34-7, Minnesota 19-16, and Seattle 37-6. I'm not saying the Bears aren't good, but let them play the Colts, Broncos, Steelers, Bengals, or Patriots and see what happens then. The NFC hasn't been very strong in recent years compared to the AFC and the AFC still has some power house teams. On that note, what a cream puff schedule the Bears have!!! The only 2 very possible losses I see for them from here on are the Giants and Patriots. The Jets and Vikings may give them a hard game though.

    Sun. 10 @ Packers W 26-0
    Sun. 17 LIONS W 34-7
    Sun. 24 @ Vikings W 19-16

    October

    Sun. 1 SEAHAWKS W 37-6
    Sun. 8 BILLS
    Mon. 16 @ Cardinals

    November

    Sun. 5 DOLPHINS
    Sun. 12 @ Giants

Haha...I love your first sentence of your post because in reality you are trying to take something away from the Bears.

They play in a weak division that they should dominate so that makes you right about their schedule strength. I don't care who they've played so far. Their defense has been so impressive. Favre has had a pretty good year, but he still couldn't handle the Bears D. Hasselbeck tore up the Giants, but he didn't have a prayer against the Bears D. Even the Lions have put up some fairly impressive passing statistics, but again...not against the Bears D. I don't care if the 'Hawks didn't have Alexander last night. The Seahawks still had enough weapons to compete, but couldn't get anything done because of that defense.

Grossman has been the X-factor too. Just about everyone thought that this could end up being a competitive division because of the Bears offense. Not anymore because Grossman is playing phenomenal football. He beat up on a very good defense last night. Seattle has a good defense. They have a good secondary. Grossman is doing this without a true #1 receiver too. Guys who have never produced in their careers like Berrian are suddenly having huge years. Much kudos to Grossman for that.
