I really have to give props to the Titans coaching staff and pretty much all their fans. I went to a big Titans forum and one guy was saying he was happy...basically because he has issues with Dallas. The rest of the posters went off on that one guy because there is no place in that game. They get a lot of respect from me there.

I don't care who you are or if you are on my team or not, I would rather lose every game with a player rather than have that guy on the field. That was disgraceful. Yes, there are a lot of things going on under the pile, but to do that to a guy's head when you know he doesn't even have a helmet on it pitiful.

I sure hope a fine isn't the end of this. I would like to see the guy suspended for at least 4-6 games.

Haynesworth has apologized and said he is disgusted with himself. You can hear the disappointment in his voice. He said he will not fight any suspension and will take it all with ease. Personally, I think when a player is attacked like that that the attacker should be arrested and charged with assault. I understand it's football and that emotions are running high. I understand that fights will happen....but not like that. Haynesworth will face a long suspension and kudos for Jeff Fisher and what he told Parcells immediately after the game. I really like Fisher. I feel bad for him because this will be his last season as the Titans coach. The front office has really screwed up the QB situation in Tennessee.

I thought his apology was pretty legit. I was happy it wasn't staged with a speech written by someone else...it was off the cuff. I thought about what that apology was really worth, and publicly I think a little but not much. He needs to make amends with Gurode.

In the end, you pay the crime, you do the time. The apology should figure in a little...maybe.

Jeff Fischer promised Parcells at the end of the game that he would levy a penalty if the NFL did not come down hard enough on Haynesworth. Sounds like everyone is doing the right thing here - Haynesworth seems to be very contrite about what he did and outright apologized.

I would expect a 4 game suspension and a hefty fine. In addition, I wouldn't be surprised if the Titans levy an additional fine.

I think he should get the season to be honest. That would send a message to the NFL. This situation could of been a lot worse and they should make sure it never happens again by making an example out of him whether he regrets it or not.

At the least I'd give him 4 games but if it was my decision, I'd make him sit the year and I'd give him a "cute" fine.

It's good that he apologized but as said above, there's no excuse for what he did. He cut him right above his eye, he could of just as easily blinded him. I think he deserves at least a season suspension, if not an entire year. I mean it's not like it was a late hit, or a big hit, this had nothing to do with football, he completely intended to do what he did, even if he now regrets it.

that really was disgusting i'm not sure what would make someone do such a thing even if he did say he was disgusted with himself, he'll get penalized to a good extent i think the NFL willd o the right thing

At least the season. I'd say a full 16 games, not just the remainder of this season.

Wow that's disappointing. Hopefully Fisher does the right thing. I know it's a completely different sport, but this incident is comparable to that of McSorely's hitting Brashear with his stick IMO. And he was suspended by the NHL for the season.

Fischer cant suspend/fine him anymore than NFL already has. There are rules in place. He can just discipline him like crazy at practice

Based on previous suspensions for things of this nature, I figured the rest of the season would be out of the question. To be honest, I thought my 4-6 was pushing it, so I guess thats not bad....for the NFL office that is.

Gurode should press charges though. He definitely has a case and it would be a great example for anyone who would consider doing something of this nature ever again.

He could press charges but I think a few incidents in the NHL have proved the courts don't want to interfere. At least in the NFL heavy fines hit pretty hard especially if it's an average salary guy

Haynesworth isn't an average salary guy.

There was no excuse for what he did. I would not be surprised if he was cut or traded by the time his suspension is up.

Marcus Vick got lucky. First, his last name is Vick so the whores of media can't fall on their knees fast enough to lick his toes or to forgive and forget his indiscretions. Second, the injury he inflicted to Elvis Dumervil's leg wasn't severe so the outcry wasn't as intense. Both acts were disgusting. Should they get a second chance? Sure, being a country of second chances in one of the things that makes America so great. However, the penalties for these actions need to be more severe and the players made to understand that they had better not do it again.

The suspension is going to cost him $500,000. Hardly chump change...
