I hear Gore's mom just died at the age of 46. That's a tragedy... I'm glad he had a great game and that the Niners are 2-0.

Karma at work... My love and respect to the Gore family...

you got to love the way Gore is playing right now. I was so certain this season would be horrible with his broken hand. Prayers go out to the Gore family. Im sure this win was for his mom.

Couldn't be happier with the 2-0 start, but I can't shake the feeling that this team's weakest link may be the head coach... he's done a great job transitioning the players and personnel, he's built a good team, but the offensive gameplans have been suffocating these first two weeks. After you've done it twenty times, running Frank Gored straight up the middle isn't gonna surprise anyone.

A lot of people have been ragging on Alex Smith. I presonally think he's a good quarterback. I've seen him do some impressive things, and in week one, he led that comeback entirely on his shoulders, and thanks to Jackson and Battle, basically had to score a touchdown three times. Open up the playbook for Smith, let him air it out a little more, which is part of the benefit of having a dangerous running back... and for the love of god, start running Vernon Davis on some slants through the middle!

Davis has just disappeared the last two weeks. I had expected them to run some plays for him...

The race for this divison is going to be an exciting one, because I really think all 4 teams have a shot at winning it.

He's been a huge disappointment. I never liked the pick, but I didn't expect him to be this bad. He has no impact on the game whatsoever for the 49ers. Vernon Davis needs to stop trying to finesse his way around defenders and start plowing people over to gain those tough 4 or 5 yards and move the sticks.

P Will has been my favorite 49er to watch this season. The Kid is a beast!

Let's make it 3-0, the offense needs to catch up with the defense this week!

I don't really know what's up with Davis. I mean, he's onloy gonna run the routes they call for him, but it doesn't even seem like they're looking that way. When I've seen them throw to him, he's always lined up as a receiver outside. There's no shame in being a tight end, daddy-o...

Anyways, I'd like to see more plays run for him. This week would be an excellent time, since there's no chance the Niners will beat a team like Pittsburgh without a short passing game. Gore will get killed if Nolan uses him as predictably as in last game.

And man, Jackson, catch the ball! Alex Smith can make good, good throws, we just need to have less butterfingering around.

Got to admit...those two wins could of easily been 2 loses. Nolan and Hostler are really pissing me off as of late because of their play selection. Hostler the OC seems to have only one page in his damn playbook and keeps picking the running play straight up the gut. Why not run Gore on a sweep or a stretch play? Everytime Gore gets the ball its the same play. You would think after the first 5 times with the same negative results, he would try something new. Davis never gets the ball because the defense knows 99.9% of the time they're gonna be running the ball so they put 8 men in the box. Also what is up with Lelie? Didn't we sign him for a reason? It it just me or did he outshine Jacobs in preseason and looked like a better fit for a number 2 receiver than Jacobs who only does his best work during practice but when he's on the field he's useless. Nolan needs to stop being so stubborn and let Lelie play because he is a definite threat out there on the field.

Don't mind my venting i'm happy that we're 2-0 but its an ugly 2-0..our offense needs a pick up

Losing Norv Turner has shown in the first two games. You don't see the creativity and the risk taking Norv brought to the team to open up the running lanes for Gore. They did bring Lelie over to be the deep threat, but I haven't seen the 49ers taking any shots down the field. It's like a vicious cycle for the offense. They can't get gain yardage on 1st down with the run game, so they are reluctant to take shots down the field, because they don't take shots down the field defenses stack the box and stop Gore.

Going up against Pitt isn't going to help the offense either this week, but hopefully our defense can keep the game close and give us a chance to steal another one.

Pittsburgh showed how one dimensional SF is right now. Gore was stopped and we lost badly. Davis actually had some bright spots.. then the inevitable... ouch...
