    Winn's three-run homer sparks eighth-inning rally

PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Randy Winn belted a three-run home run andPedro Feliz added a two-run shot to give the San Francisco Giantsan 8-6 come-from-behind victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks onMonday.

With the loss, Arizona (84-67) had its lead cut to just one gameover the San Diego Padres (82-67) in the National League Westwith 11 games remaining. The Padres defeated the PittsburghPirates, 3-0, on Monday.

"Two games today one game it doesn't make any difference,"Diamondbacks manager Bob Melvin said. "We have to go out thereand try to win every game we possibly can. That one hurttonight because we had the lead but we have to rebound."

After Arizona scored three times in the seventh, two on a tripleby Chris Young to take a 5-3 lead, San Francisco ralliedagainst Tony Pena.

The righthander led off the inning by hitting Kevin Frandsenwith a pitch and walking Dave Roberts. After striking out RajaiDavis, Winn belted an 0-2 offering 420 feet over the wall inright-center, giving the Giants a 6-5 advantage.

"All I was thinking was to try and shorten up a bit and withrunners in scoring position and try to put the ball in play,"Winn said. "It wasn't a relief until we got the last out. Wehave had some heart-breaking losses this year where teams havecome from behind.

"We are competitors and we want to win ball games. I am notconcerned about the spoiler role. What we are spoilers becausewe are going home? That is not something to be happy about."

Pena retired the next batter before pinch hitter NateSchierholtz doubled to left and Feliz smacked a shot over theleft field fence, extending the Giants lead to 8-5.

"We have been waiting for an inning like that for a quitewhile," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "It is prettyimpressive because it was off a good pitcher. What wasimpressive was how we gave up the lead then came right back andput a crooked number on the board."

Pena (5-4) allowed five runs in just two-thirds of an inning.

"I don't know what happened out there tonight," Pena said. "Itwasn't my mechanics or anything I really don't know whathappened tonight."

Despite surrendering the triple to Young, Munter (1-0) picked upthe win. Tyler Walker worked a scoreless eighth and BrianWilson notched his fourth save in the ninth.

Diamondbacks ace Brandon Webb, who has won eight of his last 10decisions, failed to become the second National League pitcherwith 17 wins. The righthander hurled six innings, surrenderingthree runs on six hits.

"We know the significance of that game. We had it in our graspand lost it," Webb said. "It was a big game for us but we willcome right back and play hard."

Kevin Correia threw 5 2/3 solid innings for the Giants, allowingtwo runs on three hits and five walks.

Mark Reynolds had two hits and scored twice for Arizona, whichhas lost three of its last four games.

"We are struggling again," Reynolds said. "It is understood whatwe have to do. We can't dwell on this. We are still in firstplace, we are still a game up so we can't really complain."

The Giants snapped their four-game losing streak withoutall-time Home Run King Barry Bonds, who sat out with a sprainedright toe which he suffered in Saturday's loss to the Padres. Heis expected to be out the next five to seven days.
