Yesterday, the Bucs played like a true contender and completely dominated the Saints, much to everyone's surprise. Jeff Garcia looked awesome, Joey Galloway looked 25, and Cadillac was finally getting into the endzone again. Not to mention our defense was aggresive and physical and was forcing turnovers much like it did in the 2002 Super Bowl season. Now all of this is great but it's very frustrating at the same time because just one week ago, the Bucs got spanked by the Seahawks and played very poorly. Nobody ever knows which Bucs team will show up and I'm convinced we're one of the most inconsistent teams in the league. One week we fumble several times, throw interceptions, and get burned repeatedly on defense. A week later we're playing like we can beat anyone. Have you guys noticed this as well?

Also, if the Bucs can continue what they started this week and perform at this level for the rest of the season, a division title isn't out of the question. The Falcons aren't doing anything this year and the Saints are already struggling and 0-2. The only real competition at this point is the Panthers but they're pretty inconsistent too. I know it's still really early and all but it's good to be excited about the Bucs again!

It's hard to tell if the Bucs are really good or the Saints are really bad. Everyone has been picking the Saints to go all the way (myself included) based on last year's performance. Thus far this season, though, they just can't seem to get anything going.
I guess only time will tell. In the mean time, congrats on the big win!

Looked like a playoff team yesterday..and they have New orlean, and Atlanta struggling, Carolina is always incosistent, they could breakout. I hope not cause I'm a Saints fan...boy was it painful watching that game yesterday!
We seriously shut down that Saints offense which was really impressive to me. Coming into this season, I also thought New Orleans would be great and their start has been really surprising. It's still early though and they can definitely bounce back. The Bucs defense was just crazy though. We were extremely physical and it reminded me of the days when we were a perennial top five defense in the league. Kiffin had his boys playing great and that's the type of smackmouth football that we need to get back to if we wanna make a push for the playoffs. Hopefully we can keep this up and maybe play even better when we get Brian Kelly back. He's a great shutdown corner and there is no doubt his return will help our secondary out.

Oh and how about Barrett Ruud?! Everyone wondered how this team would fair with Shelton Quarles gone and a young inexperienced guy in Ruud stepping in but he has played great so far. He was all over the field yesterday and has led the team in tackles in each of these first two games. 13 tackles in the first game and then 11 tackles yesterday is just really good to see. We have a great linebacker core right now with Ruud, June, Brooks, and Trotter.
