Silvestre Out For The Season
Mikael Silvestre has been ruled out for pretty much the rest of this season with a cruciate ligament injury.
The Frenchman had to be taken off in Saturday's 1-0 over Everton after catching his studs in the Goodison Park pitch and falling very awkwardly.
Scans carried out on Sunday have revealed that the defender had damaged a cruciate knee ligament, whichmeans he is unlikely to return before the end of April.
This leaves Manchester United slightly short on cover in the defensive department, particularly given the departure of Gabriel Heinze.
It does mean, though, that young Gerard Pique could see more of the action in a senior team shirt, along with some of his junior team friends such as Jonny Evans, Danny Simpson and Phil Bardsley.
Darren Fletcher and John O'Shea are also injured at the moment.
