I love South Florida and I've been a fan since the program started. Everyone in my family has season tickets for them and I'm so pumped to finally see them ranked. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this is the first time they've been ranked in the program's short history. Anyways, congrats Bulls and keep it up!

From the UC beat writer at the Cincinnati Post

Just 'cause I'm on the teleconference with nothing to do until BK calls in. Somebody asked USF coach Jim Leavitt about four Big East teams being ranked in the top-25 "and with Cincinnati being right there" and how strong that was for the conference.

"The polls don't, in my mind, really change what I thought. I said from the beginning when we had our media day that the Big East was stonger than last year. (The conference champion) might go undefeated, or a team might lose one or two games. The parity of the league is just so strong. Everybody can play. You’d better be ready."

Also, somebody asked Leavitt if he fears playing a team like North Carolina, because they're young and nobody knows what it's capable of. Leavitt says he's afraid "of the Lord" but not necessarily of the Tar Heels.

I remember when they first moved to the Big East, I thought they were going to get killed. We used to even struggle in the C-USA so I thought we'd be in for a rude awakening against these talented teams in football but especially in basketball playing teams like Connecticut, Villanova, and Louisville. While the basketball program is still terrible, we've made huge strides in football and it's great to see us getting some attention.

One of my best sports memories ever was going to the Louisville-USF game in 2005. The Cardinals were the ninth ranked team in the country and nobody knew who the Bulls were. Tons of Louisville studens and fans came to the game in Tampa and expected their team to dominate a program that had only been in existence for nine years. South Florida came out to play though and KILLED the Cards 45-14. I remember going crazy and losing my voice. Me and my friends were all yelling at the Cardinals' fans and then for the last five minutes of the game the entire stadium had an OVERATED chant going. After the game, we all stormed the field and it was just amazing. It was a great atmosphere and everyone was going nuts.
