The Yankees have moved to just 2.5 games back of Boston after tonight's results. Mike Mussina pitched flawless against the Orioles and the Yankee bats unloaded for 12 runs.

Boston blew a 2-1 lead, and ended up losing 3 to 4 against the Bluejays. AJ Burnett fanned 11 Redsox and was just one out of pitching the complete game.

Added bonus, Detroit also lost, so the Yankees moved 4.5 games ahead of them in the Wild Card race.

Yanks win / Sox lose / Tigers lose / Mets lose

WHAT A GREAT NIGHT!!!!!!!!! hopefully phillies can win and get closer to the mets.

to the game. what another great game by moose. im not a huge moose fan, never really was, but because of his pitching the last 2 games he is pitching himself back into the rotation and we all know the coaches want mike to pitch well because he is a veteran who knows how to win in the playoffs. if moose keeps pitching like this and we can get the roger clemens that showed up vs schilling the other day added with wang and pettitte we are going to be a scarey team in the playoffs. i really believe arod will stay arod this year in the playoffs and we can make some noise.

my biggest fear? matsui and abreu going ice cold. but lets get to the playoffs first via AL East Champs of course [IMG]

What a great night for the Yanks. They're a lock for the playoffs now (yeah I'll say it).

holy christ! phillies in 14innings, 7-4..man i wish i saw that game on tv. that sounded like a great game. what a gutty and huge win for the phils. the phills get a huge win and the mets suffer a devestating loss. two teams seemingly going in opposite directions...imagine if boston AND the mets choke and either get the WC or miss the playoffs entirely? omfg that would be the greatest senario ever! then yanks win the WS and dominate the town and world again...yeah dreams are pretty sweet
