I just read this on ESPN and thought about it for a second and cant stop laughing Dave from Washington: "The Raiders suck so bad that they are 15-point underdogs to a team that scores 12.2 points a game. This has to be a sports first. The sickest part? The Broncos are a mortal lock to cover." That is hilarious

I have to say that I enjoy it when a bay area team is absolutely terrible. The last couple of years have been fantastic because of that.
Well BF1. They covered. A hell of an interesting point though. Talk about a team nobody is giving any credit to. <sigh> Not that they deserve any right now. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (cubuffsman78)</div><div class='quotemain'>That is funny, but it's also a great point. I do actually own a Raiders jersey though. A Bo Jackson throwback... I actually like the Raiders more than the 49ers. I had a few close friends growing up that were 49er fans and they ruined them for me because of the way they acted. Plus I'm a Cowboys fan who grew up in the 80's and 90's. Any 90's Cowboys fan hates the 49ers. I do like players and coaches on the teams though. I just never cheer for either team to win. Actually....I can't think of any current players I would cheer for on the current Raiders and Niners teams. I love Mike Singletary though. He's my favorite player of all time and the current assistant head coach at San Fran. I like players of the past for both teams like Steve Young, Bo Jackson, Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott...
I can only warm up so much to the Raiders. Ken Stabler once threw up a prayer that helped to end the Dolphins' greatest run ever. In the 90s and early 2000s, there were some Raiders that I really liked. I thought Rich Gannon got a raw deal in Kansas City, but he kept his head up and made the most of his time with the Raiders. On the other hand, I thought Marcus Allen got a raw deal in Oakland and was glad to see him get another chance as a Chief. Tim Brown is my favorite Raider of all-time. He was so consistantly great for the Raiders and seemed to be a team first guy. I got to meet him at an autograph signing and he seemed like really nice guy.

I can understand people not liking Mr. Davis, but that's not where I come from. My connection to the team goes back many years into some of the best teams the RAIDERS ever had. I'm just not going to throw him under the bus for something shiny and new. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (cubuffsman78)</div><div class='quotemain'>I actually like the Raiders more than the 49ers. The Cowboy/'Niner thing makes perfect sense. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (cubuffsman78)</div><div class='quotemain'>I do like players and coaches on the teams though. I wasn't saying that you need to be sad when the RAIDERS lose, I was just wondering why you would be happy when <u>any team</u> from the bay area loses. You've answered my question. Thanks.

To this day I still don't understand what he could have done to deserve that treatment by the team. Now we have Porter sitting in a similar situation, though he could take a lesson in class from Marcus. Hell, Porter could take a lesson in class from John Matuszak. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DD)</div><div class='quotemain'>Tim Brown is my favorite Raider of all-time. add Jim Otto, Jim Plunkett, Bo Jackson, Fred Belitnikoff, Art Shell, Gene Upshaw, Howie Long, John Madden, Tom Flores, and Eric Allen to that same list that you find Tim Brown on.

Thank heavens for the Millen-led Lions. I, too, IMO am not the biggest pea-brain on the site. I am a genius. Much like Wil E. Coyote, but a genius regardless.
That reminds me of one of my favorite quotes that I think many can relate to: "Those who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us that do."
