Dude, if the moderating were "heavy handed" someone would have edited the content of your posts. No one did. No one would. I've been one of the few mods that's even opposed to the language filters because I don't have any problems with people fucking cursing (though I also don't give a shit that the words shit and fuck get edited out). You're really throwing a tantrum over nothing here.

And you started the new thread with one thing in mind, you're not fooling me here. However, there's no need for you to get upset and take this personally as it had zilch to do with you and everything to do with trying to make our jobs as moderators easier (because we're charged with growing these boards, and part of that is preventing people from walking away). If I had been looking at the Lakers board and noticed a Rockets fan doing this I would have done the exact same thing. When S2 started we were supposed to keep this sort of thing to a manageable level. That's why I tried to do it, except that thread titles can't even be changed yet, so nothing happened. I've discussed this with Blackadder and consider the matter closed.
You can talk with BA all you want and you can consider this matter closed, but that doesn't mean anything to me. You and I are going to have problems as long as you continue to try and sully my reputation as a baiter. I've given you plenty of examples where I've been hard of football players of plenty of teams. Trust me, if I was the type to bait someone, I could do a much better job than this thread. Regardless, this tread is consistant with my posting style for as long as I've been with NFL Forums and it's never been a problem because I'm going after public figures. I'm really trying to make SportsTwo my new posting home, but this whole thing is starting to make me feel like us NFL Forum guys are just dirty step kids that better not get our feet on the nice couch or maybe it is just me.

With respect to going after public figures - these people are not your family, friends, or relatives. They are fair game, as Denny said. It is you, the fan, who are taking this whole thread way too seriously, personally, and makes your collective egos appear to be completely fragile and paranoid. Is that what you want to express? Claiming things like people are trying to "bait" patriot fans just for the thrill of doing it is just an excuse not to discuss a new and relevant topic within the forums. It really appears that all you want here is a bunch of "yes" men, and anything unsupportive of NE not permitted. That *is* heavy-handed, and elmunro has spent way too much energy talking about the posters and not the topic itself.

This is my last post in this increasingly worthless thread. As I made clear from the start there was no personal intent here. We mods were supposed to keep the acrimony to manageable levels when S2 started. Period. I'm not sure how many more ways I can say that you're taking this way too personally when it didn't have anything to do with you. If I could have merged the Harrison threads, I would have. No ones words were edited and we're very specific that that not happen. So the outrage over not having your opinions censored strikes me as a little baffling.

The reason is that the NFL has a substance abuse policy built into the CBA. A four game suspension is mandatory for second violations, if I recall correctly. I believe a third is a year's suspension.

QUOTE (CelticKing)

So first violation is nothing?
I believe the first violation requires treatment and is followed up by random testing. But the random testing is urine testing, so unless the players are pretty stupid (and fail to take epitestosterone along with their steroids to flummox the urine test) or get caught the way Harrison did, the follow up is mostly meaningless. (But, the four game suspension is probably evidence that Harrison previously violated the substance abuse policy.) About the only NFL player we can say isn't using them is Richard Seymour, given that his recovery time forarthroscopic surgery is actually normal.

So, why should I take your word that none of this is personal? I'm really trying to jump in here and be part of SportsTwo. I know you weren't part of NFL Forums, but, out of respect, perhaps you should go back and read some of our threads OR you could just not make assumptions about our intentions until you get to know us. My posting style can be harsh, but I am calling them like I see them. When I started "The INDISPUTABLE Truth about Michael Vick" thread IN THE FALCONS forum, it could have been called baiting because I certainly wasn't pulling any punches. However, it was a great thread with a lot of good debate and I'm not sure if it's even dead yet and it's a couple of years old. If you think I should takeyour word that it isn't personal, then perhaps you could give my word a ounce of credit.
Personally, I'm just not feeling any respect for the NFL Forum guys. Perhaps we should have complained about the layout and generally whined a little more and maybe a little more effort would have been madeto get to know us. I'm not talking about always agreeing with us. Argue with us. Debate with us. Just get to know us before you start talking to us about our intentions. Have you noticed how many regular NFL Forum guys have not been posting or posting irregularly? It's like walking into a new house with a bunch of strangers and trying to fit in. How many timesdo I have to say that I had a good reputation at the NFL Forums and I'm not willing to start over as a newbie before you guys hear me? I really feel like ehmunro may have thought that I was baiting because he doesn't know me, but an IM would have worked better than an EDIT. I might have changed it myself if someone had tried to talk to me before casting me as a baiter. I want SportsTwo to work and be successful, but I'm not going to hang out if I'm just the ugly stepchild.

For the record & as far as I am sentient, Ehm and I are fine.
Dale & I.... well we're like Kevin Nash & Scott Hall or is that Shawn Michaels & Hunter Helmsley?
