I have to keep the mojo going! The Yankees grinded out another win by a dominating pitching performance by Andy Pettite. This was the third straight start by the Yankee oldies (Clemens, Mussina, Pettite) that has completely shutdown the opposition.

The Redsox watched Jonathan Paplebon serve up the Grand Salamie to Russ Adams. It was only the 2nd HR for Adams all year. Redsox went down 2-6 and were swept in the series.

Added Bonus: Detroit lost again and are now 5.5 back in the Wild Card race.

The way the BoSox have choked is ridiculous. What was a key strength of them all year (pitching), has been horrendus down the stretch. Okajima has been getting beaten on. Daisuke has been awful recently. Papelbon blew the save here tonight. Essentially, everything that could go wrong, is going wrong right now for them.

As for the Yanks, it's the opposite. They're pitching is on track finally, and I give a lot of credit to the BP. Joba Chamberlain has been essentially lights out for us, and has really given us that bridge to Mo in the 9th, who in turn, has been getting the saves in the process. The starters have been great though too. Save for that one bad start by Wang, I don't recall the last time we didn't get a quality effort out of our starters.

The Yanks have really pulled it together and are playing better than most any team in the MLB. They're pitching has been very good, the pen has been solid, and the offense is one of the top 3 in the majors. If this team can continue to put all the pieces together, I see no reason as to why they can't go all the way.

They always choke in the playoffs, I'll still take Anaheim over them.

They do have an issue with choking in the playoffs. However, for some odd reason, they seem highly motivated as of recent. I don't think they'd roll over as easily this year as in years past, simply cause of how much work they've put in to this run.

I just hope that they're not putting all their effort into this run.

Yes, that is why we only have 26 rings

I respect you Mamba, but to say they always choke in the playoffs, it's crazy. If by choke, you mean they don't meet the hype every single year, then yes, they choke.

Top 3 offense? No man, best in the league.

Tops in the majors in batting average, runs, obp and slugging. And that was with injuries to several key players.

My point exactly, concidering how much we Bobby, Cano, and Damon sucked, and our only good offensive players being Arod Jete, and Posada, that's one hell of a line.

Putting Melky in CF has been an underrated stroke of genius by Torre as well.

It should have been done sooner. Seriously, I, and many other people, had been screaming for him to play center. Johnny sucks at throwing. It's a fact.

@ Mamba: Yankees are allowed to lose in the playoffs. Media just loves making a big deal when the Yankees don't win.

Speak for yourself, I'm still waiting for 162-0 season baby! LOL.

The media does over blow the Yankees when they lose. The Evil Empire is an easy target because of the payroll and the fact they play in New York. I wonder what the writers are going to say when the Yankees payroll gets trimmed down and they start holding on to their Minor leaguers. They've slowly started to adopt a lot of money ball principles. Cashman knows what's he's doing.

Yup. In a few years, our team will be mostly home grown. Cash finally, is figuring out how to be sucessful over time.
