Just wondering what you think the biggest steal of a draft has ever been. The biggest one I can think of is Bart Starr getting taken in the 17th round. More recently Tom Brady's got to be up there.
^ thats not nearly as bad as Brady in like the 6th round... there has been a ton of steals in the draft, Hines Ward was a 3rd rounder etc
Onterrio Smith always called himself the steal of the draft. Bart Starr is a good call, but Tom Brady may be the all-time steal given the # of rings he wears.
Two picks: Chicago Bears - Richard Dent (Rd. 8, Pk. 203, 1983) And the ultimate! St. Louis Rams - Bill Goldberg (Rd. 11, Pk. 301, 1990) It's not often you draft a Wrestling World Champion in the 11th round... Interesting note about late draft choices from an article I found on the subject: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Green Bay Packers - The Packers are by far the best late-drafting team of the last 25 years. From 1992-2000 alone they grabbed: Mark Chmura (Rd. 6, '92), Mark Brunell (Rd. 5, '93), Dorsey Levens (Rd. 5, '94), Adam Timmerman (Rd. 7, '95), Marco Rivera (Rd. 6, '96), Keith McKenzie (Rd. 7, '96), Matt Hasselbeck (Rd. 6, '98), Aaron Brooks (Rd. 4, '99), Donald Driver (Rd. 7, '99), and Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (Rd. 5, '00).</div> From: http://www.docsports.com/biggest-nfl-draft-steals.html
Yeah, I'd think Brady was the biggest steal of all time, considering he was taken in the 6th round and the scouting reports on him were dismal at best. I can't think of a Pats fan that was happy when Brady first took over for Bledsoe but we were all wrong.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Wasn't Jerry Rice undrafted? There had to be someone who's a HOF?</div> Jerry Rice was a first round pick. Warren Moon, on the other hand, was undrafted and is now a Hall of Famer.

Are we disqualifying players if their worth was never realized by the team that drafted them? Johnny Unitas was drafted in the 13th round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Then, they cut him.
