well i downloaded it and i'm addicted lol i'm the coach of the Detriot Lions (don't judge me they had the most cap room and gave me the most $) I had an amazing draft... Jay Cutler, Ernie Sims, Donte Witner, Claude Wouten, Brian Calhoun... yea i know nasty huh. I used most of my cap room to get a great offensive line all of them are high 80s and above. I just beat Denver in the first preseason game 31-10, Kevin Jones ran for 165 yards and 1 TD. Jay Cutler threw for 190 yards 3 TDs and 1 INT. Sims had a forced fumble. My team is insane. Go LIONS!!!????

After a couple of weeks of playing this, I'd have to say that I'm a little disappointed. In theory, I love this product. However, it seems as if EA rushed the product out too soon to get it out in time for the real NFL season. There are just too many instances where it doesn't seem to be too thought out. Primarily, it is too rigid in many cases - additional flexibility would make this a great game. Don't get me wrong, I will still enjoy it. I'm only in the first season yet and I'm 5-0. However, my defense seems to be too good to be realistic, and my offense not only seems anemic, but it makes unrealistically poor decisions. I'm wondering my complaints are common and if this had anything to do with EA pulling the product. The product is missing many of the features of the Madden products. I think it they went back and tweaked the product to put a little more heart into it, HeadCoach year 2 could be a good product. As a side note, for those interested, I have found a site that is incorporating add-on utilities to improve the product. My disclaimer is that I have not tried any of the utilities found here as I have just found it today, but I plan to. The technology is from the users, so buyer-beware if you download, but it seems like a techy group that is trying to close the gap between HeadCoach and some of these missing Madden features. It is rumored that one of the posters is a EA employee there on his own accord http://football-freaks.com/forums/index.php?showforum=213 Now that I type all this out, a thought came to me. I'm speaking based on the store-bought product...probably the last one in Eastern Iowa. The last downloadable version may be drastically different. If so, please let me know. I may need to be more specific on my complaints.
if you guys have it on PC do you play online vs other people? I do its a ton of fun to coach against someone. If you want to play me we should figure out a time and get on it
It is rigid....the defenses are way ahead of the offenses....the QBs, regardless of how experienced, make a lot of crazy decisions....many times ive watched a TE run down the seam all alone only to have the QB dump it into the flat to a covered WR who stands and watches a CB pick it off and go the distance....many times ive watched a massive hole open up right where the back is supposed to go, but he dances around and ends up caught for a loss(Reggie Bush does that until you want to puke)....if you dont coach every little detail, you are at a major disadvantage....Ive found the sim to be fairly good though with some nice little quirks....I took over the Browns, drafted well, won the Super Bowl in my 2nd year....the cap got so high, so fast(like$158 million after the 2nd year) that I didnt have to make any tough personel decisions....in fact, I was adding A+ free agents as backups with plenty of room....I ended up winning 5 straight Super Bowls while simming thorugh the season and only controlling the personel....but thats when it got quirky....because I wasnt doing everything myself, my work ethic was falling a little each year....by the 5th title, a combination of delegation and success led to my coach's work ethic dropping so low that he could barely do anything....he had literally become fat on his success and couldnt compete....I thought that was an interesting twist....I ended up as the 2nd greatest coach of all time....I was highly rated on Championships(5) and playoff record (16-0), but I only had 96 regular season wins....the area that really kept me from being the Greatest was coach lineage....once I had the coaching staff I wanted, I never let any of them leave....you never have to so I didnt....Romeo Crennel was my D-Co for all 6 years despite begging me to let him move on....If i had it to do again, I might keep the coaching staff a little more fluid and try to build the lineage....
