BTW, the Jays drafted Wells fifth overall in '97. If you aren't going to hold Jeter agains the Yanks than you can't hold Vern against the Jays.</p>

Why would I hold Jete against the Yankees? He's having a pretty good year.</p>

 

Even if you are retaining players it still shows the Yanks unfair advantage.</p>

The reality for most MLB teams is you have to let players go. Tori Hunter won't be Twin next season for this reason.</p>

Imagine if the Jays had been able to keep Chris Carpenter and Kevlim Escobar.</p>
