Next year? Preferably Wang, Andy (I won't count him, even though he was a Yankee farm hand), Phil, Joba, Ian
4/5, 5/5 counting Andy.

Oh I see. So you're taking all the possibilities and trying to make a best case scenario to back up your point.
While I believe that some of the players you mentioned will be a big part of the Yanks next season, I think you're being shortsighted if you don't think they'll be signing anyone this offseason, especially if they don't win it all this season.

That is the point, the Yanks can afford to make mistakes.
A big part of the reason the Jays sucked this year was because Vern sucked. Unlike the Yanks they can't pay for someone else to come in and take over for him.
BTW, the Jays drafted Wells fifth overall in '97. If you aren't going to hold Jeter agains the Yanks than you can't hold Vern against the Jays.

Here are the moves they will make:
Trade moose to the NL. Pick up Abreu's Option. Ask Andy if he would pick up his option. Let Roger walk. Resign Posada, Rivera, and hopefully ARod. They'll see if they can get rid of Damon.

CAshmen is using his brain now, not Stein's wallet.

Even if you are retaining players it still shows the Yanks unfair advantage.
The reality for most MLB teams is you have to let players go. Tori Hunter won't be Twin next season for this reason.
Imagine if the Jays had been able to keep Chris Carpenter and Kevlim Escobar.
If money is the root of all evil and the Yanks have the most money, the Yanks are the evilest out there, lol.

See the list he is on? Steinbrenner is no where on that list, while several sports owners are. You rather see Steinbrenner pocket the money?
I thought the Jays let Carpenter walk due to an injury?
-Petey
