(Nov. 2, 2006) -- The first half of the season will be remembered for many things, among them Bill Parcells transforming himself into the NFL version of Morganna the Kissing Bandit, planting wet ones on any player in sight. But now it's time to kiss off the season's first half and embrace the second half that, for most teams, kicks off Sunday. Pucker up for these predictions. These are the men who will rule the season's second half: Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is beginning to make some serious waves throughout the league. Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is beginning to make some serious waves throughout the league. *MVP -- Falcons QB Michael Vick : While attention continues to shine, rightfully, on Colts quarterback Peyton Manning and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, it's starting to look like one of those on-a-roll seasons for Vick. He is using the run to set up his throws, and his throws to set up his runs, and finally, with Atlanta's user-friendly second-half schedule, Vick can run off with his first NFL MVP. *Offensive Rookie of the Year -- Patriots RB Laurence Maroney : With all due respect to Reggie Bush, Laurence Maroney has been and will be the most impressive rookie running back. He is leading the NFL in kickoff return average, has demonstrated more speed than any big man should possess, and looks as if he will grab the Rookie of the Year. *Defensive Rookie of the Year -- Texans LB DeMeco Ryans : Funny how the Texans passed up Bush, Vince Young and Matt Leinart for a defensive player, and Houston's most impressive defensive rookie has been second-round pick DeMeco Ryans. He piles up tackles and is on his way to piling up postseason awards as well. *Coach of the Year -- Bears coach Lovie Smith: Football's lowest-paid head coach had a great first half and will be equally good in the second half. While we're thinking ahead, it's hard not to contemplate this: An African-American never has coached in the Super Bowl. This season, we're looking at the possibility that two -- Smith and Indianapolis' Tony Dungy -- will. *Super Bowl winner -- Indianapolis Colts: When Pittsburgh was 7-5 last season, few thought the Steelers finally would nab one for the thumb. This year, despite one of the worst run defenses in the history of football, the Colts will. And in the last snap shot of the 2006 season, Manning finally and fittingly will get to kiss the Vince Lombardi Trophy. I agree with the lovie smith because he has turned the bears around.. I agree Demeco Ryans should win it.. I don't agree with the Indy in the superbowl pick.. Or Mike Vick being the league MVP, I don't agree with maroney, or Bush for offensive rookie of the Year
If not Maroney or Bush, who? Call me biased, but Maroney has been pretty damn good this season so far.

Marques Colston is a 7th round draft pick and wasn't expected much of but he has been awsome
I hope Bush doesn't get it if it's only cause of hype. I agree with Lovie unless he starts kissing his players then I just can't agree with it
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MKIV_Supra)</div><div class='quotemain'>No! Michael Vick for MVP is never going to happen!</div> I wouldn't say that. He's made the Pro Bowl with a pityful passer rating. I would agree with you if your saying that you don't think he will ever deserve an NFL MVP award. I still think that if Vick manages to lead the Falcons to the playoffs, which he failed to do last year, that he will meet a defense that he can't pass against and will contain his running enough to beat the Falcons, like the Eagles did two years ago. He's the NFL's chosen one, so the whores of media will be looking to give him the award if he has a decent season.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'>I gotta agree w/ 420 about Maroney. He, to date, has been the best RB selected in the 1st round.</div> yes i agree to but because he is a 1st round pick and a RB doesn't mean he deserves the award
I don't think Lovie Smith is coach of the year. If the Saints continue their success then Sean Payton should be coach of the year in my opinion.

Lovie won it last year cuz he was percieved to have done so much with so little. But, if you are like dungy, you are percieved to have a lot already, no one considers you, no matter how great of a job you do. He has manning so if he wins no big deal. But, the fact is, he has almost nothing on defense and has found a way to get his team to 7-0. He is the coach of the year IMO.

Greg Jenning's was keeping up with him, but an injury has even caused him to fall back of Colston. WR is one of the tougher positions for a rookie to make an impact and Colston has done it in a big way. He also plays TE in some formations for the Saints.
I think Jennings can still make a run at it as he's going to be back for the Bill's game. But Maroney has been very consistent and is taking the starting role so I think he also has a good chance. I think A.J Hawk will be DROY, wouldn't that be crazy if it's: Jennings OROY and Hawk DROY lol.

I actually drafted him in every fantasy league I'm in, but neither he nor Maroney is having the impact that Colston is having this season. Both DeMeco Ryans and Ernie Sims are outperforming A.J. Hawk so far this season.
Since Packer fans are throwing in their players, I wouldn't mind throwing in Safety Dawan Landry. LOL!
Ernie Sims (8 tackles behind Ryans) should be legitimately talked about for DROY... He has played very well thus far... My vote for OROY would go to Maroney personally
Actually Simms and Ryans both have nearly the same stats as Hawk. While Hawk has had to share the Field with Nick Barnett.
